We were lucky to catch up with Sophie Delcoure recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sophie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
I’ve been through some tough situations in life because of my physical and mental health, especially physical health. Then, I realized I also needed spiritual healing. Because of the experiences, it’s led me to learning and acting on all possible solutions so that I may be able to live a functional and happy life.
I started by healing myself. (I’d like to mention here that “healing” is not the same as “curing” as healing is a continuous process throughout life to evolve and become better, whereas curing is solving a problem that will not return once resolved and is not a continuous process.) I needed to address several issues I was faced with emotionally, physically, and spiritually that had kept me from my potential and my authentic self. To be frank, it stole my happiness! As I went through (and still going through) the process, it became very clear that all of us need that kind of love, help, and support.
What I also noticed is that, culturally, we like to compartmentalize issues we experience, similar to how doctors compartmentalize physical ailments of all kinds. This is a key issue that holds us back from truly healing and experiencing happiness. Each person needs to be able to heal in all aspects of life, holistically. As a Reiki Master Teacher and Energy Healer, I understand how it all interconnects since I have experienced what most of us do: we focus only on one particular issue at a time and never connect the dots, but then wonder why we’re all stuck in loops of problem after problem after problem. I also noticed that most healers stay focused on spiritual experience and will only highlight anxiety, depression, and grief. But, the truth is, we cannot heal emotions and motivate ourselves to change unwanted behaviors if we maintain this tunnel vision through compartmentalizing.
I decided to open a channel that would address all of it at once, while also giving some helpful tips for roller skating! Our bodies need to be healthy in order to hold the beautiful divine, spiritual energies that we all have access to. Our minds need to be healthy for the exact same reason. We cannot be our best selves nor fully understand the spirituality within each of us without those two aspects being along for the ride. So, I use my love of roller skating to help promote this holistic outlook of personal healing.
Am I the best ever roller skater? Absolutely not! Heck, I’d say I’m an “experienced beginner” still. But my skill level doesn’t really have anything to do with it. What does is my drive to reconnect to and challenge my body, to get better at something I love, to empower the body I live in. This physical activity then translates to mental and emotional re-balancing and clarity. Plus, it reconnects me with nature and being outdoors, which is another missing aspect to our holistic health, based on our culture pushing us to live and experience life inside buildings most of the time. Simply put, physical activity, especially outside, “cleans out” the body and mind of stuck energy that holds each of us back from spiritual experiences and understanding, right down to denying anything spiritual exists. With the body and mind cleared, a person has the opportunity to connect or reconnect to the world in a refreshing and deeply spiritual way. This amplified connection – more like a re-found connection – will make prayers, spells, energy work, intentions, all of it, be that much more powerful and sincere. And this goes for ANY religious or spiritual practice a person follows. That energetic power translates to confidence, trust, optimism, joy, everything we’re all searching for. And, that groundwork is exactly what we all need to experience a life of abundance while on this earth. By abundance, I’m not just referring to money and possessions. This is about joy, about friends and family, about learning new information and skills and expanding yourself however you see fit. It’s about experiencing abundance in a way that makes you happy as a human experiencing life. Period. So, I’m bringing everything I can to the table that ties all of these aspects together. My motto remains: “Let’s Heal Together!”
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a Holy Fire III Karuna Reiki Master Teacher, a Seraphim Blueprint Energy Practitioner, a Chakra and Crystal Healer, a Universal Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor, and a Psychic Medium. What all of this means is I help people heal through alternative methods of energy healing, meditations, and spiritual communication. For some of us, traditional healing methods may not be enough, and seeking healing through these alternative avenues are the key to our healing journeys. The great news is the healing methods I use can help a client alleviate stress and blockages that may be causing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual issues through the use of special techniques that will allow the client’s own body and mind to heal themselves from the inside-out.
I am more than aware that some people think my field of work and this world of love seems crazy, and that’s ok. It’s not for everyone. But those who experience these methods understand how beneficial they can be, even life-changing for some.
The type of work I do is unique as all energy and healing practitioners have the same goal: to help you heal yourself naturally and holistically in whatever ways you need an extra boost in. A client’s preference for a practitioner will be based on the connection they have, making the client-practitioner relationship extremely special and unique. My clients know they will receive everything they need in an energy or advisory session because of the connections we have. If you need relief, you’ll get relief. If you need energy, you’ll get energy. If you need joy, you’ll get joy. So on and so forth. It’s my job to ensure that every client is safe and progressing, while also being there in moments of set-backs. My metaphor for my work: “It’s a blessing to be able to hold your hand and walk with you on your healing journey. I am right here.” And my motto: “Let’s heal together!”
What makes me different is that I will encourage you to not just openly receive healing energies, but I will encourage you to take care of your body, mind, emotions, and spirituality. Because, when one goes down, there is a domino-effect that occurs. We need to take care of all aspects. Every person is a whole person, whether you see it or not. And when someone doesn’t see it, it’s my job to walk with them until they do.
One wonderful benefit of my work is that I can do everything in-person or remotely, so I’m not restricted by proximity, anywhere in the world. If you are interested, all you need to do is reach out: where you’re located does not matter. I can even do my work without virtual connection, meaning I don’t even need to be on the phone with you to do what I need to do! The only exception to this would be any spiritual advisory sessions or guided meditations. For those two, it requires listening or conversation, so at least a phone call or text is needed! Overall, this flexibility also allows me to provide services in ways that best suit each client, rather than requiring a specific setting and communication style that may not be comfortable for all clients.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
This field truly does seem crazy to some as there are so many different views on spirituality and religion. One of the misunderstood aspects: this healing practice is not based in religion of any kind, which means anyone can partake in these benefits, regardless of beliefs, including atheistic views. Energy is an undeniable fact of existence for all, even inanimate objects. (Physics and Quantum Physics exists for a reason!) Religion has no part in this fact, therefore no requirement needed to receive or even practice energy healing.
Most skeptics have a hard time understanding the benefits until it’s experienced, which includes myself! I was a skeptic! And now, I’m a teacher, practitioner, and chaplain, which I never would have thought to be my case in a million years. It took opening my mind and heart to the possibility of this type of healing for me to try it and then understand it. Words will never be able to express the reality of the experiences, which is why I encourage all to at least try it. Not one person in the world has anything to lose or be afraid of when trying it. When there’s nothing to lose, why not!
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
To be honest, I did not know any of this existed in my younger years, during times that I REALLY could have utilized such benefits. Simply getting the word out loud enough for others to know it exists is important. Teachers exist. Practitioners exist. It’s all there. We are a small community overall, but I can see that we are growing rapidly. And quite frankly, it’s still not rapid enough! So please, check social media, the internet, your local area. Use keywords like “reiki, energy, meditation, spirituality, crystals, healing circles,” amongst others. As long as you know these words exist, you can find us. And we, practitioners, will be there for you.
