We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sophia Williams a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Sophia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

I always love candles and on Mother’s Day 2019 my husband bought me my first candle-making kit. So, I got into candle-making as a Hobbie, then I wanted to share to the world my talent. So, Earth Goddess Shop was born in May 2020. I really wanted to make intention candles and charka candles. So my first candles I made was charka candles. I want people to get in tune with balancing and healing energy.

Hello my name Sophia and a little about myself. I work in the Healthcare field and I am at a point in my life where I want to work for myself and help others. I got into candle making because I love candles and I know I can help others with my candles. I make intention candles and charka candles too. Intention candles are candles infused or charged with the energy of your intention and are used in meditation, and manifest those intentions to life. I am proud of my Accomplishments.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

A lesson I had to unlearn is that I thought family and friends will support you, but they sometimes they don’t. I had to learn that most people that will support you will be strangers.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

There was a time in my business that did pivot for the good. Last year, I had a few customers that came to me and told me how my candles help them get through some tough times. They stated that when they light the candles, they can feel the calm energy in the candles. When I got those messages, all I could do was tear up in happiness. That makes me feel really good.
