Sophia Trunzo & Lior Root, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
We believe in the power of business ideas that address real challenges, which is why in 2019 we established Paradigm Media, a digital marketing agency specializing in highly regulated industries. Through our past experience working with high-risk products (i.e.; Cannabis, Pharma, Alcohol, gambling, Sexual Wellness, etc) we recognized the pressing need for experts like us who already understand how to navigate the complexities of online advertising.
In less than 3 years we scaled our agency by 800% and it was during this period that the concept of Loopholes began to take shape. The initial spark for Loopholes came from our paid media department’s demand for a more efficient solution to handle compliance issues on behalf of our clients.
After conducting interviews with 20 digital marketing agencies, publishers, and affiliate marketers, we confirmed the necessity of a tool like Loopholes. In the last year, it became evident that we could tackle an even more significant challenge: Content Moderation at Scale. This marked the beginning of our development journey.
Today, almost a year into developing our MVP, we’re proud to say that Loopholes is the world’s first AI technology to protect your online footprint by correcting your text in real time to avoid the risk of publishing harmful/non-compliant content.

I’m Lior Root and I’m the Co-Founder and CEO of Loopholes. I consider myself a serial entrepreneur and I have over 12 years of experience in digital marketing and e-commerce and 10 years of experience working directly with compliance teams. I have a proven track record of envisioning and executing innovative ideas, building and scaling high-performing teams, and driving growth and revenue with a customer-focused mindset. I’m proud to say that I sold my first company in 2018 and in 2019 co-founded Paradigm Media with Sophia, a digital marketing agency that has grown by 800% in the last 4 years. As an immigrant and a female leader, my motto, “Dream Big. Work Hard. Make It Happen,” reflects my unwavering belief in the power of determination and ambition. I’m committed to inspiring and empowering others, especially women and immigrants, to reach for the stars and achieve their dreams.
My name is Sophia Trunzo and I’m the Co-Founder and CRO of Loopholes. I’ve been in the digital marketing industry for over 6 years building, leading, and managing teams focusing on customer acquisition and retention. I’ve combined my experience in Content Marketing with my extensive network of partners to work with brands, large publications, affiliate networks, and advertisers to ensure the content they publish is accurate and appropriate. In 2019, I co-founded Paradigm Media and since then have had the pleasure of working with thousands of highly regulated products and hundreds of publications’ policy teams. I’m a true believer that my passion for building a connection with each partner has led to immense synergy and allowed for more innovation and acceleration. We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
While we’d like to convey our optimism throughout this journey, it’s important to acknowledge the setbacks we encountered from having an idea to the actual execution. In 2022, when we first had the idea of Loopholes, we embarked on a journey of self-education about building a tech product and starting a SaaS company—both unfamiliar territories for us. We quickly recognized that reaching out to our network was the most pivotal step we could take. We explored a multitude of avenues, from attending webinars, engaging in LinkedIn discussions, participating in networking events, and holding face-to-face meetings to having insightful phone conversations. We did it all!
So the best advice we can offer other entrepreneurs is to immerse themselves in a supportive ecosystem of mentors and like-minded entrepreneurs who have either traversed similar paths or are currently navigating similar challenges. Our network became an invaluable source of knowledge, guidance, and support. Through the amazing network we built for ourselves we met with Vishal Arora, who joined our team as our CTO and became our third co-founder.

Fortunately, we’ve successfully bootstrapped Loopholes thus far. This choice was made with precise intent: we are in pursuit of partners who are not just financial investors but also strategic to help us accelerate the growth of development while unlocking pivotal opportunities.
What we’ve learned during this journey, is that in the initial phases of a startup, your team is the biggest asset you have. Our team is dedicated to innovation and continuous growth.
