Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sophia Stewart Adams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sophia , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Crazy stuff happening is almost as certain as death and taxes – it’s technically “unexpected” but something unexpected happening is to be expected and so can you share a crazy story with our readers?
So So Good Cooking participated in its first “summer festival”. This was an outdoor event and we had to provide everything including electricity ourselves. This was the first time having an on-site inspection conducted by the Tarrant County Health Department. They checked EVERYTHING. This was also the first time using a generator and that was a struggle within itself. It took 3 hours to get the generator working. Within that time frame, my husband decided to rent an additional generator. A family friend brought his equipment over as well. It took 3 generations to run our booth! The event started at 9:00 am. By 9:30 am our booth was crowded with people wanting to purchase food. We were expecting 200 attendees and over 400 showed up! We started cooking around 11:00 am but only a couple of items. The generators couldn’t hold the volts from the fryers and kept shutting off. This was a stressful experience but glad to have gone through it. At the end of the day, we had a successful event. Lesson learned: make sure to fully understand what you’re purchasing and to always have a backup plan!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?

How I got to where I am today is hard work/dedication. Never give up when things fail. Always look at the positive outcome rather than focusing on the negative. Learning from my mistake to make sure they’re not repeated. Asking for advice/help when needed. Stepping out of my comfort zone and placing myself in environments I can grow/learn from.
