Sophia, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?

Growing up in the vibrant landscape of Jamaica, I learned a profound lesson at a tender age – the transformative power of looking impeccable to evoke a sense of well-being. My academic years, marked by mandatory uniforms, necessitated meticulous care, including starching my clothes, to attain an appearance of crispness and sophistication. This practice instilled in me a lifelong commitment to always present my best self through style and fashionable choices.

My maternal mother, an esteemed fashion model whose career spanned the globe, graced international stages with her presence. Simultaneously, my aunt, a formidable style icon in her own right, possessed an uncanny ability to assemble captivating outfits from her existing wardrobe. These influential figures became the catalysts for my destiny into the world of fashion, imparting the invaluable lesson that one can exude elegance even within the confines of a modest budget. Today, I continue to champion the idea that one’s appearance wields a profound influence on self-perception and the perceptions of others.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Greetings, I am Sophia, known as Sassy Sophia, both locally and in Jamaica, my country of origin. My educational journey led me through some of the finest schools on the island, with the pivotal moment of embracing a passion for impeccable presentation occurring during my high school years. Despite financial constraints within my family, my aunt, who played a significant role in raising me, ensured that I had beautifully styled hair and I was aware of my presentation.

As I transitioned to the United States, the ethos of consistently presenting oneself in the best light became an integral part of my identity. Along this life path, I cultivated meaningful friendships with individuals who appreciated my distinctive sense of style and grooming. I have always advocated the idea that one doesn’t need an exact match in every attire; instead, one can create numerous outfits by skillfully combining different elements.

In my journey, I draw inspiration from a profound desire to motivate those who may be facing challenges or feeling disheartened. A mantra that resonates deeply with me is, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me,” which serves as a guiding principle in my business endeavors. I approach my accounts with a fervent passion, unwavering drive, and a keen sense of style, elevating them to new heights. My overarching mission is to empower individuals to overcome obstacles and embrace their full potential.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?

Certainly, at the onset of my journey, I reflect upon the significance of having the brand manager I currently have. During those early stages, a remarkable company discovered my page and collaborated with me on a campaign. If I had Kingz Creations as my Brand Manager then, we would have navigated the partnership and built an amazing relationship with Cozy Earth. In hindsight, I recognize the potential for improvement in the quality of my reels and posts had I benefited from more professional assistance. We will definitely be reaching out to Cozy Earth to build, I love them. So the resource that I have been sharing truthfully is Kingz Creations.
I tell everyone to call Kingz or at least look into having a brand manager.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
