Sonya, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.
After cosmetology school, I started a referral program. Each person that sat in my chair, received a punch card. If they referred 3 friends, they received 50% off and each person that came received an initial $5.00 off their first visit. This grew my business overnight. After that, everything was word of mouth and I was working 4 days a week 12 hours a day to keep up with my new client base.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I started working very hard closely with the breast cancer community and many were seeking a plant-based way to restore hair growth. As a result, I curated a fully comprehensive hair growth system. What sets my brand apart is my years of experience and training in the salon. I not only understand the chemistry of hair, but I know and understand what ingredients are beneficial in stimulating hair growth effectively. My brand is a professionally sourced pro brand that is priced at a competitive price. My customers can trust that they are getting a high-quality product with the research to back it up. Healthy Hair care should be a part of your lifestyle.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
I sought out the local business association in my city and took free business classes. I learned the importance of a business plan, how to plan marketing and how to stand out when applying for grants. As a result, I received enough working capital by receiving 2 notable size grants to give my business a good start and some working capital to grow.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Monthly I work pop-up events from Sacramento, to Oakland, San Fransisco, and LA. This has boosted online sales and contributed to daily sales 7 days a week.
