Alright, Solodoloroze thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Oh man hitting hard right out of the gate..I like that haha. Geez man a big risk that I’ve taken lately is honestly deciding to jump into my first ever rap beef. It was a big decision for me mainly because I’ve never been in a rap beef or rap battle before my opponent has been multiple times. So before I dropped my first diss I was really contemplating yunno? Just having thoughts in my head about wether or not I could even get in that type of bag with buddy because he claims himself a battle rapper and I will never take anyone’s pen game away from them when I know that they are actually good at rapping no matter how lame and ignorant they may be ..the guy can spit. By the time the tracks starting flying back and forth between us two..I was like man I can really battle rap haha..let’s just say after my second diss which was a freestyle to Kendrick Lamar’s “Peekaboo” with my big sister Mila Rose.. I could’ve ended it there. Unfortunately I won’t go too in depth with the beef because I’m doing my best to move on from it, but I took the risk mainly because as the quiet guy who is always showing love and biting my tongue I simply just got tired of my kindness being taken advantage of unfortunately buddy was just the last straw yunno? Instead of crashing out and getting violent or anything like that I chose to crash out in the booth and just talk my sh*t haha. How did it turn out? Well I guess whoever is reading this will just have to lock in with me on my journey and find out..

Solodoloroze, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Daniel De La Rosa my artist name is “Solodoloroze” rose like the flower just with a Z. I’m an upcoming artist/youtuber from Carrollton GA. I’m 25 years old and I’m a proud Capricorn haha. I’m also the CEO of my upcoming label “14000 Underground”. Music has always held a special place in my heart when I really decided to become an artist is when I grew up watching my big sister do her thing when she was a gospel artist. Who I am as an artist today has a lot to do with her she motivated me and coached me so much man she’s just amazing at what she does I do my best to always give her her flowers. When I was about 8 years old me and her made our first gospel song together called “Third Day” along side our cousin. A lot of people throw judgment my way because I’m not a gospel artist anymore, but as I got older it just wasn’t in my heart to just stay in that category of strictly labeling myself as a “gospel rapper” I had more I wanted to say yunno? I’ve fallen short and have music that I look back on and don’t take much pride in because I was just either trying to make a catchy hit and go viral or because I was trying to be like everyone else. At 25 years old as a artist my goal now is to make music that is true to me and true to God. It’s time to right my wrongs and move forward on this next chapter in my rap career. That is what I’m hoping to achieve with my next album that I’m working on.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
In my opinion the best reward of being an artist is honestly being able to see others enjoy your art. I mean think about it whether it’s your friends, family, or complete strangers people are interested in your art..your creativity. To me that’s gotta be the best reward to being an artist. Sure money and clout is nice, but man knowing there’s people out there that genuinely appreciate my music and enjoy listening to it..that’s everything man seriously.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn was trying to impress everyone. No matter what you do in this life you will never win over everyone. People will not like you, people will sleep on you, and people will try to belittle you. Once you truly understand that and stop trying to live for others man you’re pretty much unbeatable at that point.
