We were lucky to catch up with Solely Tone recently and have shared our conversation below.
Solely Tone, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Looking back I’d say it was always an interest, even if only slightly. 2020 really put a lot into a specific perspective for me. I was dealing with an array of difficulties, personally. Quarantine gave me plenty of time to dance alone with my thoughts and think about myself and who that actually was, and what I actually wanted. I made the definite choice to pursue this for real around that time.
Solely Tone, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Me? I’m just that. I think that’s really all there is to it. A person, writer, artist, a human who just wants to find clarity in being himself. Truthfully it’s more of a search to accept that, that “that” alone is enough. I just express myself through song, through words over an arrangement of sounds. I strive for inclusion, to help anyone who relates to what i write FEEL something. I’ve always believed i’m here to make people FEEL, something, anything. In hopes that being me to my fullest can inspire others to be them to their fullest. I think that’s beautiful. I think that’s Art.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The exchange of emotion. One thousand percent. A supporter expressing to me how a certain line in a song made them feel or how they related to any of my releases. That feels amazing.. it allows me the grace to feel like my reach is more than just my four walls when i write. Hearing of how my words connect.. knowing the emotion and experience behind my writing, it’s heavy. Means more than i thought it would prior to starting this if i’m being honest. It changes you. We’re all in this together and music highlights our familiarities and our similarities in our differences.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
In short, to inspire through expression.
