We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sole Bovelli a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sole, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I think, in a way, all the projects I’ve been a part of or have collaborated on have been meaningful in different ways. I’m really grateful to have had great experiences with all the people I’ve met through work.

Sole, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a Mexican-Italian actress. I was born in Irvine, CA, and grew up in Newton, MA. I signed with my first agency in New York as a kid through a talent scouting event. After signing, I moved to Los Angeles and worked mostly on commercials. I moved to Mexico to get more in touch with my roots, and after a few years, I moved back to Los Angeles to really begin developing my craft. I really went through a journey of finding myself and understanding what kind of artist I wanted to be before I was ready to really make this my life journey.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
There are too many stories to pull from, but I would say resilience is a beautiful tool that can only come from experience. For me, rejection is something I used to take to heart, but I’m slowly understanding and learning to trust the journey and what is meant to be. I’ve found things always work out in the end, and if they haven’t, then it’s not the end yet. Dealing with rejection is inevitable, but how you choose to react or go from there is in your power. Any moment of challenge is also an opportunity to learn and grow.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I think the most rewarding thing is to be able to awaken people to parts of themselves through a film. I love encouraging people, and especially new generations, to be in touch with their emotions. I love reminding people of what it means to be human and celebrating what it means to be alive through storytelling.
