The story behind our mission is deeply personal and meaningful to me. The idea for this business began as a hobby, much like many other ventures. However, what sets this one apart is the special connection it has with a loved one who is no longer with us. My aunt, who sadly passed away, played a pivotal role in planting the seed of this idea in my mind. Her belief in my potential inspired me to embark on this journey.

With her guidance in mind, we are dedicated to offering candles that are made with 100% safe ingredients. We understand the importance of rigorous testing, and that’s why we conduct monthly tests to ensure that our candles meet the highest safety standards. We want our customers to have complete peace of mind when they use our products, knowing that they are free from harmful substances.

We are passionate about sustainability and the well-being of the Earth. Starting this business while I was a sophomore in college speaks to the ambition and determination that fuel our mission. My name is Sofie, and I am the founder and driving force behind the brand of Oasis Studio Candle Co. I want to share my personal journey and the core values that set us apart from others in the industry.

My passion for candles and creating a safe and luxurious experience started in 2018 when the initial seeds of the business idea were planted. However, it wasn’t until 2022, after extensive research and overcoming personal challenges, that I launched Oasis Studio. This journey holds significant meaning to me, as it is deeply connected to the memory of my beloved aunt, who passed away from cancer in 2019. Her presence continues to inspire me, and I firmly believe that her influence guided me toward creating something truly special in the form of candles.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

Being authentic and true to yourself has been the most effective strategy for growing our clientele. By staying genuine, we attract customers who resonate with our brand and values. If people don’t connect with us, it simply means they aren’t the right fit, and that’s okay. Stay true to who you are, and the right audience will naturally be drawn to your small candle business.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

So, picture this: I was all set to launch my business on November 1st, but things didn’t quite go as planned. I hit a roadblock when I couldn’t get my hands on enough jars and wicks for my candles. Talk about a major bummer!

But hey, I’m not one to give up easily. I rolled up my sleeves and got to work finding an alternative solution in record time. After some serious detective work and research, I finally found some suitable jars. Feeling like a candle detective, you know? I decided to go all out and ordered a whopping 12 different wick sizes because, well, I wanted to cover all my bases.

Now, you might think ordering that many style wicks is a bit crazy (and honestly, you’d be right), but guess what? They miraculously arrived 3 days (Thanks Hive & Honey. It was a wick miracle! With jars and wicks in hand, I had one month to test eight different candle scents. Can you imagine the mad dash? I basically survived on caffeine and burned testers day and night. Sleep? Who needs that, right?

But you know what? In that whirlwind month, I discovered something amazing. I learned more about myself than in the past three years of learning combined. It was like a crash course in resilience and self-belief. I proved to myself that I can tackle tough challenges head-on, and my past doesn’t define my future. That’s some powerful stuff right there.

Now, fast forward to today, and I’m still going strong. I make it a point to retest my candles every month to ensure that nothing has changed. It’s my way of staying committed to excellence and keeping that spirit of resilience alive.

So, there you have it—a story that captures my journey, complete with jars, wicks, and a caffeine-fueled candle-making adventure. It’s proof that when life throws challenges your way, you roll with the punches, burn those testers, and come out stronger on the other side.
