We were lucky to catch up with Sofia Santoro recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Sofia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I would hope that my legacy be centered around how I have made people feel and the impact I have made in their lives. Being a beauty business owner and an eyebrow artist, what I value the most is the way I make my clients feel after their appointment. Nothing beats seeing their eyes light up when I hand over the mirror and they get to see the final result. However, even more than that, I love being able to connect with my clients during their appointment on a deeper level. The conversations we have inside the studio are what makes what I do worth it. I know the impact my clients have made on my life; I can only hope that one day when I may no longer be walking this earth, that people, but especially my clients, remember the impact that I may have had on them.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Sofia Santoro, I am the owner and CEO of Santoro Beauty, and I am in the business of making women look and feel better than when they first walked in with luxurious eyebrow services. I have been in the beauty industry since 2015 and doing eyebrows professionally since 2017. Typically, women seem to struggle with the shape, density, and texture of their eyebrows. At Santoro Beauty, we ensure that everyone leaves feeling confident with their brows by enhancing what they already have and making them look their absolute best. What sets Santoro Beauty apart from other eyebrow studios is the level of care that not only goes into the services provided and products used, but the relationship that is built with the client. Being a first-time business owner, I am most proud of building a business from the ground up (with no prior business experience or business degree) and being able to overcome all the challenges that come with business with a smile on my face!
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Although I use email and text marketing, post ads on social media, and ask clients for reviews, the best source to attracting new clients thus far has been referrals! My clients are not only my walking billboards, but they are also my biggest fans. I have been able to reach so many new people because of the great feedback my clients give their family, friends, coworkers, and even social media followers. It is truly an honor and privilege when I find out that the new client sitting in my chair was brought in because of another dear client! I am extremely blessed.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think what has helped me build my reputation within my market is my honesty, consistency and passion for what I do. In other words, being myself and sticking to my beliefs as to what makes a great business owner. I have realized that the reason why people choose to spend their hard earned dollar at my business is not because I am just like any other eyebrow studio, but rather because of who I am and what I have to offer. I am learning that my biggest and strongest advantage is the unique ability to be myself. No one can be me, and that alone is my super power! My biggest tip for anyone struggling to find themselves in the midst of owning a business: be yourself. Yes, it may sound cliché but there’s a reason why clichés are true. No one can be you, so take advantage!
