We recently connected with Sofia Negron and have shared our conversation below.
Sofia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
The biggest risk I took in life is – motherhood –
Motherhood to me was shown in the aspect that you grow up get a job, get married, and have babies. But my life wasn’t presented me in such a manner. Being a single mom has been my biggest risk because regardless of what I face I have to make sure my girls are okay. How was I going to support them? Love them? Work and provide? Let’s talk about the real side of single mom ish as I call it. Being a single parent is a role of two- how can one be two people and one person in one? That’s impossible. But when one has no options you have to rise above. Being a single mom was a risk because I have to work, nurture, lead, provide, and grow. To wear many hats and still be strong is a risk. I chose my life despite how it happened and it was a risk.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I think one of the hardest questions we get asked is well tell us about yourself. Cause truly what do you want to know. In so many aspects one can say so many things about themselves. What do people want to know? My favorite color? Where I’m from? How old am I? What I’m mixed with? Or let’s get deeper? Am i married? Do I have children?
Well let’s start with the basics, Hi, my name is Sofia Negron. Born in Decatur, raised in Stone Mountain. I am a mother of two sets of twins daughters. I work, hustle & aspire. Boom!
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Funding for a business? This is a good question. How much should someone invest in their purpose? Is there a price tag? My business has really transpired into my life. I could meet a client at the store, my job, a birthday party, it can happen anywhere. I had to learn to be versatile. Wearing many hats is possible but can be draining. So funding for my business came into the aspects if maybe taking a self care day, investing in a course, having an experience, the list goes on. I can’t put a price tag or a tally on what size spend for my business because I am my brand.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
What’s the definition of resilience? Resilience is the process and outcome of adapting to difficult life challenges. Real Life taught me that regardless of what I face in a business aspect I can still prosper and continue forth. Having a business is real dedication because if you don’t do it, who will? . Compared to my Real Life if I don’t push my purpose who will?
