We recently connected with Sofia Misabishvili and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Sofia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
How to Achieve Success?
I believe that everyone can achieve their goals and the success they dream of. The key is to believe in yourself and your abilities! However, belief alone is not enough—you need to take action. My journey to success was driven by self-confidence and discipline. Without discipline, I wouldn’t have accomplished what I have today.
How did I become a successful culinary blogger with over 1.2 million followers on Instagram? If I said it was easy, that would be untrue. Being a blogger is hard work, and not everyone can succeed in this field. It requires time, patience, and persistence. Many people give up halfway when they don’t see quick results. The secret to success is simple: keep growing every day, stay disciplined, and never stop.
When I started, I didn’t obsess over numbers—views or followers. Instead, I focused on the process: creating new videos every day, improving my recipes, and honing my skills. Consistency and discipline are the true keys to success. Even if results don’t come right away, you must keep going and stay patient. With time, if you remain dedicated and consistent, success will surely follow.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am Georgian (from Sakartvelo), and for the last 6 years, I have been living in Spain. Initially, I specialized in Caucasian (Georgian) cuisine, but after moving to Spain, I began enhancing my skills in European cuisine by training with the best chefs in Europe and attending culinary schools like La Escuela Hofmann. This school is the creation of the renowned Spanish chef Mey Hofmann. La Escuela Hofmann was founded by her in Barcelona in 1983, and according to Mey herself, it is her pride. Many years ago, Hofmann decided to fully dedicate herself to the culinary arts, and she succeeded 100%. In addition to the school, Mey Hofmann owns a patisserie and one of Barcelona’s most prestigious restaurants, which bears her name—Hofmann. In 2004, the establishment was awarded a Michelin star.
In 2019, I opened a small Georgian restaurant in Barcelona called “Sofiko,” which quickly became successful. Everyone wanted to dine with us, but due to high demand, people had to book a table weeks, and sometimes months, in advance. Then the pandemic hit… We had to close the restaurant. During the pandemic, I experienced severe depression, and I am still recovering. The depression greatly affected me and slowed down my ideas, but I managed to get back on my feet and continue my journey with renewed strength and new projects.
Last year, in 2024, I partnered with an investor to open the first branch of Evergreen in Barcelona, a restaurant specializing in healthy cuisine. Evergreen proves that healthy food can be the most delicious food! We plan to expand and open new branches! It’s a unique restaurant featuring my signature dishes. I highly recommend everyone visit Evergreen in Barcelona (I hope our branches will soon open in America as well).
On my Instagram channel, I share simple homemade recipes for everyday meals or festive occasions. In my profile bio, I specify that these are not restaurant dishes but cozy, homemade recipes! I realized that people love simple and easy recipes. I try my best to engage with my followers, receiving a lot of messages and comments. Unfortunately, I can’t always reply to everyone, but I make an effort to communicate and answer questions as much as possible.
Looking to the future, I have many exciting projects. There are several proposals I’m considering as future projects. I really want to open restaurants serving Georgian cuisine and introduce people to Georgian food—it’s incredibly delicious!
I strive to inspire people through my recipes. My uniqueness, perhaps, lies in the fact that I genuinely love people, love sharing my recipes, and sincerely connect with my audience, always trying to be closer to them.

How did you build your audience on social media?
The pandemic was to blame for everything… I had to close my restaurant because of it. The city declared a state of emergency, everything shut down, and everyone stayed at home. Since I was 16, I’ve always been very active, constantly developing myself, investing in various small business projects, and searching for a convenient and financially profitable business idea. Twenty years ago, I realized that cooking is my passion and my purpose—I love what I do. Cooking used to be just a hobby for me, and I don’t even remember how it turned into my main job.
I opened my first restaurant back in 2012 in Georgia, called Fecbook.cafe. We specialized in Italian cuisine. At that time, the cafe was very unique: every guest could come in, take a laptop, use it as long as they wanted, and enjoy delicious pasta or pizza. But due to personal issues, I had to close the cafe and urgently leave the country. It was very tough and painful, but I had no other choice at the time—I had to abandon everything and start my life from scratch.
The pandemic was the second painful blow for me. I had to close another new restaurant that I had opened with so much love and joy. I was sitting at home, not knowing what to do. Then I opened a social media platform, specifically Instagram, and started scrolling. That’s when I got the idea to record a recipe video and share it with people. At that time, I had only 1500 followers. I got up, filmed a cool restaurant-style recipe, and it got just 500 views and likes. A few days later, I filmed another restaurant recipe, but it got even fewer views. For a whole month, I kept filming and posting recipes, but I realized people weren’t interested because these were complicated restaurant dishes. So, I decided to start filming simple, cozy, homemade recipes. I set a goal to film and post recipes every day, without focusing on the numbers, and I stuck to it!
Initially, I specialized only in Caucasian and Georgian cuisine, but I started filming European and American recipes to improve my skills. This helped me learn about new dishes and experiment. The number of my followers grew day by day because I was filming new recipes every day.
What’s the Secret to Success and How Did I Gain 1.2 Million Followers on Instagram Alone?
Discipline, consistency, and patience—these are what helped me. I knew that consistently posting new recipe videos would lead me to my goal and success. My advice: don’t give up halfway, keep creating, and you will definitely achieve success!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
