We were lucky to catch up with Sofia Karam recently and have shared our conversation below.

Sofia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

The first time I knew I wanted to work in the entertainment world was about 6-7 years ago now. I had someone super close to me take me to a launch event in Miami. At that event, I had a Talent Agent come up to me and want to sign me. She thought that I would be successful in this industry, and as shy as I was at that time, I decided to go for it! I thought to myself, ok this is definitely something new but why not? I’ve always loved to model, take cute pics at home, but that’s it! I didn’t do anything more than that.

After I signed with that agent, I booked my first commercial as a principal (where I would act, talk, dance, but I was so nervous!), I will never forget it. It was for a phone company in Chile. It was the most amazing thing I had ever experienced. It was such a fun, crazy, fast paced environment and I fell in love! It was incredible seeing all of the other principal actors with me, and everyone who worked behind camera. That’s the moment I knew I wanted to be involved in that world, whether it was behind the scenes or in front of the camera. After that moment, I decided to study Broadcast and Emerging Media studies. I wanted to be prepared, and that major was the perfect one. With that major, I took classes on how to present on TV, news, everything online, as well as the behind the scenes.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am a model, TV Host, Actress, and influencer! I do a little bit of everything, and I love it that way. I have been working in the entertainment industry for a while now. You may have seen me modeling/hosting on Univision, Telemundo, NBC 6 in the mix, and a few others . I truly love what I do! I got into this world because of signing with a Talent Agency years ago, and starting to post all of the modeling/acting jobs I booked. That helped me grow on social media and allowed me to work some amazing brands. I have worked with brands like Amazon, Urban Decay, Olay, the Super Bowl, Drunk Elephant, Tampax, and more, it has truly been a dream! I love to post about my life, and everything that I do. I am extremely proud of myself and everything that I have accomplished, it’s been more than I could ever imagine. I also am currently working as an Influencer Campaign Manager/Account Manager at a marketing agency in Miami, FL. I can’t wait to see what this new year has in store for me!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Well, I started a few years back! The way I was able to build an audience on social media was all because of posting everything that I did outside of it. I posted behind the scenes of shooting commercials, photoshoots, magazine covers, outfits, etc. My advice would be to post what makes you, you! Everyone’s life is different, who are you outside of Instagram, TikTok, etc? What do you do? What do you work in? What’s your full time job? Are you still in school? Have a conversation with your followers! Also, be consistent! Post as much as your schedule allows you to. Collab with brands, reach out to brands and let them know you want to work with them, etc.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

Being able to connect with people all over the world and inspire others!
