We were lucky to catch up with Socorro LeRoux recently and have shared our conversation below.

Socorro , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

The most meaning full project that I’ve worked on thus far has been my album trilogy “Mulah Rouge”.

The backstory on the project is that it started in 2018. It was my first solo musical offering. I went into it with no expectations, I just wanted to express myself as genuinely as I could. The first album in the series was an unexpected success which lead to the second installment Mulah Rouge II, that was released in the summer of 2021. By this time the album series was about more than self expression, it became a project that helped others through tough times as many could relate to it. This year I will be releasing the third and final album in the trilogy Mulah Rouge III, which will showcase the growth from the first album up until now.

One of the main things that makes this album series so meaningful to me is that I write and produce the music on them myself which allows me to really capture the moment and provide a landscape for how I feel.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

A little about myself: I started out with little to nothing. In the beginning, there was not much hope for me to succeed. At one point, music was all that I had as an outlet. Over time, it went from a passion project to actually being a vehicle that had driven me toward the right path in life. During this journey I built up the courage to pursue a high education so now I am set to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity in June. I am also in the process of graduating from a second school for Modeling and acting as well.

I started as just a song writer but now my services at The LeRoux Directorate include audio production, artwork, motivational speaking, mentorship, brand and image consulting, technology services, and business management.

What sets me apart and from others and what I am most proud of so far is the fact that I started from ground zero in life and have been blessed to take humble beginnings and turn them into a success story. My message to the world is “Never Give Up”.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist to me is when you pour your heart and soul into a project then share it with the world and it resonates well with the public. I say this because as an artist, when I create new things I am in my most vulnerable state. To see the final product mean much to others is the biggest payoff ever because you never know who you touch with your art and how you impact them.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

A lesson that I had to unlearn is that you can not and do not have to do everything in life on your own. I have always been a person who never asked for help or didn’t accept help from others because I always thought people had ulterior motives. Although that may be true in a sense, not everyone is that way. Along your journey through life you will certainly encounter others who genuinely want to help and support you.
