We were lucky to catch up with Sno0py Watts recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Sno0py thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The Mission I carry as an international entertainer serves as a representation of my company’s values. What’s the name of the company? It’s called D2AG, which means Dedicated 2 Achieving Greatness. The ultimate mission of our movement is to help constituents to take on the task of identifying their passions and to share their unique gifts with the world. D2AG is comprised of 4 main elements; there components are D2AG Clothing & Apparel, D2AG Drumsticks, D2AG Records (Production team), D2AG Productions (International Content & Commercials). We aim to build bridges with artist and partners around the world to effectively spread our message by way of musical sound recordings, commercial ads, media coverage and more.
Sno0py, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Donald “Sno0py” Watts II, internationally known as Sno0py Watts. I’m a professional Drummer, Musical Producer and Recording Engineer. I’m a South Florida native currently based in Atlanta Georgia. My love for music began at 3 years of age and the journey picked up from there. My career began in 2014 while enrolled as a full time student at Bethune Cookman University. I completed my Bachelor’s Of Arts in Mass Communications in the fall of 2015; Let’s go Wildcats! As my career continued, I’ve been extremely fortunate to meet and share the stage with many great musicians and artists. As a musician my daily work includes playing various genres including RnB, Blues, Pop, MoTown, Soul, Rock, Top 40s, generational classics and more. To date I’ve traveled to over 75 countries performing for the masses. In addition to this I’ve also been landed endorsement deals with InEarz Audio, D2AG Drumsticks, and Soultone Cymbals. My favorite thing about my job is having the opportunity to brighten up someone’s day by simply enjoying playing a song of their choice. In fact, this has been my dream job to do; there’s nothing like it! I travel the world accompanying live bands like The BB King All Stars, Rolling Stone Lounge, The Tasteful Tea Band, and more. Aside from this I also produce music working with various artists. To highlight a few of my recent credits I’ve produced tracks like “Smoke” and “Wave” for MDotXCellent, “Triple My Price” for Young OG Rawby, and more. Stay tuned for new music coming soon! It’s been an amazing journey thus far and I look forward to continuing thrive to new heights.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
When it came to gaining capital in order to invest into my business there was a always ONE dependable way I could cover any cost. This way was by performing with live bands and simply saving the money earned from the event of the day/night. I’ve never had any investors during my tenure. As a college student I was employed working as the Drummer for 2 ministries, the BCU Jazz Combo Band, the BCU Drama Department, and I worked recording live drum sessions for music majors and artists on campus as well. Having music as a dependable source of income has been a rewarding experience across the board. Especially when considering the importance of enjoying the work you do to make a living. This rare accomplishment is indeed a blessing that everyone deserves to experience.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe that being both versatile and consistent has been the greatest contributors to my success. I enjoy being placed in situations where I’m required to provide a solution that’ll have a favorable outcome. For me, I’ve always prided myself on being well rounded and educated. My niche is what creates the ‘stand out’ factor in the marketplace. Having the ability to provide live musical services (Drums), studio recording services (Drums & Beats), retail (Clothing line), and content creation; D2AG’s name will carry an amazing legacy.
