Smoke, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

My mission has and always will be to create a legacy for my current and future family.Threw my music I aim to inspire others to do the same.Tupac Shakur once stated” I may not change the world but I’ll spark the brain that does” which is one of many reasons why he’s at the top my list of all time greats. The story behind my mission is coming from nothing going against all of the odds set before me to guide me to failure. I’m nowhere near where my goals are set for me to be in life but Im much farther from where I began. Music for me has always been an outlet as well as a form of inspiration.I’ve learned that the tongue is one of the most powerful forces in the world. It has the ability to sway an entire nation in one direction or the other.With that being said every time I put my pen to a piece or paper or set foot in the booth I want to sway people in the right direction while also telling my story of the adversity’s I’ve overcome.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I began creating music around 11 or 12. At that time, my stepbrother was also an artist with a home studio so in a way, he was an early mentor to me. Throughout the years, I developed my talents working with different music lovers around my neighborhood and eventually ventured out to other areas of my city. I continued making music throughout high school but it wasn’t until around 19 where I seriously started putting my music out for others to hear. Those years prior for me were developmental, learning the proper channels and preparation it took to release a record or body of work to have the best impact. During that time I connected with a lot of different labels, artists, and writers and learned the do’s and don’ts from their successes and failures. Within the past few years of me actually taking that knowledge and applying it to my career, I’ve been able to grind my way into a position to be around major artists and also other upcoming artist as well as producers and writers. I’m proud of how far I’ve come in my career but I know the work is nowhere near over. I still have a lot I’m looking forward to accomplishing. The main message I want to push to my fans an others just now getting to know of me is that I pride myself on discipline and originality as they should too. Any thing your working to obtain can be achieved through discipline and never be afraid to be yourself.

How did you build your audience on social media?

Building an audience comes by practicing consistency. As an artist your social media presence is very important so posting content on the regular keeps fans an listeners engaged. This not only applies to social media but also in the field meaning clubs, events, and gatherings. I built my audience by not only my content but willingness to invest in my contents promotion and marketing budget. Also paying attention to what’s relevant an what’s the new wave. Things are constantly changing, what’s hot today may not be hot tomorrow so as an artist I had to make sure I stayed aware of that an never getting comfortably with what I was doing at that moment.

Have you ever had to pivot?

One of the biggest lessons for me was learning to adapt to the Pandemic. Covid 19 threw a big curveball in the entertainment industry. Especially for artists, we had to find a way to service our audience and keep them entertained through that time period while also still being able to conduct our business amongst ourselves. The only way I seen to combat this problem was to make my social media presence even stronger. This time actually helped me create an recreate new ideas that are still beneficial for me today.
