Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sloan Treacy. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sloan, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
So far, the most meaningful project I have worked on has been my first EP. It is very special to me because it was the first music I released, and is what has allowed me to really feel like an artist. Thanks to those songs, I have gotten some very cool opportunities for which I am very grateful. I am so glad to be able to look back on those songs as a landmark for where my journey started!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Since the age of 9 I have been writing and playing songs on my acoustic guitar. For most of my life it was just me and my dad playing in the living room for fun. However, I have always dreamed of being an artist and actually releasing my music. Last year I released my first EP “Stuck” and have another coming soon. I love writing songs and performing. It has always been a huge outlet for me. I hope to do it for the rest of my life. I write about my own experiences as well as others’ from books, movies, and eavesdropping. My hope is that it resonates with other people as much as it resonates with me!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I love writing songs even though it can sometimes feel unnatural. It is most rewarding in those moments when you have been struggling to figure out the next lyrics or what the chorus should be and then it finally clicks. That’s the best feeling. Or once the songs is finished and you get to perform it. I love seeing how an audience reacts to a song, and it is so much more fun to play for people versus my walls. I could go on but those are some of my favorite parts of the creating process!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I have been singing my whole life and later discovered that songwriting was my favorite way to express my thoughts and the opinions I found hard to share. I have grown up listening to a variety of music, mostly thanks to my parents who have introduced me to so many artists that are still my favorites today. I went to my first concert around the age of 11, and saw how the artist impacted the crowd and vice versa, and knew immediately that I wanted to do the same. I still share the same sentiment and am so excited to be able to share my music and find people that enjoy it.
