Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Slimoe. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Slimoe, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
In 2024, I, Slimoe, took a step back from everything to focus on creating something truly meaningful—my album, Joyful Energy. This project wouldn’t have been possible without the pivotal conversation I had with my dad at the start of the year. His words opened my mind and heart, giving me the clarity and motivation to embrace a new perspective. He became the narrator for the entire album, and in many ways, I was running on his energy throughout the whole creative process. Alongside my producers and friends, I flew out to California to bring this vision to life. On November 11, 2024, I released Joyful Energy in New York City. The album is more than just music; it’s a reflection of growth, positivity, and the powerful connection between family and artistry.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, in 1997, I grew up with both my mom and dad in the house, which was a blessing I didn’t take for granted. Going to school, I noticed that many of my friends didn’t have both parents at home, which made me appreciate my family even more. I became hyper-aware of the moments I spent with them, knowing that each day could be different. This heightened my sense of gratitude, and it opened my eyes to the importance of love, connection, and the fleeting nature of time.
Growing up Both my mom and my dad played music in the household. My mom Jamaican background had a heavy influencing on me with the Rastafari lifestyle and it’s roots . My dad African-American background made me get into soul and blues and jazz music.
The influence that Music had over me sprouted into high school that got contagious where I end up meeting friends open minded and passion behind music, just like me and my journey started.
The year of 2016 right after I graduate in high school I recorded my first studio album titled “TaLL TaLe”
In the back of my friends, backyard in the shed with no intentions on stopping only looking to get bigger and better and this music game.
And every year I did so leading up to the year of 2025 and I have put out so much music since I started recording my voice With the help of my produces, we’ve never took my foot off the gas
And not planning on pressing brakes anytime soon any years to come.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
What’s driving, my creativity nowadays has to be my mother. Her passing in 2022 really shaped my view on life and my perspective of how things will end up. You just never know, live every day like it’s your last and make sure you’re doing what’s best for you and the ones around.
My mom always told me “sick Don’t care much less the doctor if you don’t care why should I bother” I care too much and I move the way I do because I care it reflects in my music and the people around me.
