We were lucky to catch up with Skyler Simmons recently and have shared our conversation below.

Skyler , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about how you’ve thought about whether to sign with an agent or manager?

Skyler was discovered and scouted at the start of 2023 via Instagram. He signed with his management Sheila Legette and Kia Todd within a week. Skyler auditioned to have Zuri LA as his agency and they signed him all across the board. When signing with a agency it is important to ask questions and to do re search before checking into a meeting.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Skyler is an energetic, bubbly and hard working kid. He is best known for his Co Star role as “Jason” on the Emmy Award Winning Show Abbott Elementary, Season 2 episode 9. He also landed a spot on Nick Jr. Troop Dragon Fly. Being in the second grade and working in the entertainment industry as a kid can be tough , but Skyler loves it and all the hard work that comes along. I’m the year of 2023 he have been welcomed to the sets of Uggs, Nike, Reebok. His expressive looks and over the top energy was the start of music videos as he bring the Swagg in upcoming NAS and School Boi Q music videos. Skyler made his theatrical debut with Amazing Grace Conservatory in their production Pino as the lead Pinocchio. He continues to work hard and vlogg along the way .

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being a young creative in Hollywood is living out my dreams. I get to travel hours away , see the most amazing and beautiful houses that I will buy my family one day. When I attend events or go out I now have kids my age and sometimes older coming up to me asking for pictures and telling me how much I inspire them. I love making people laugh with my jokes. I love making new friends meeting new people from places I wish to see one day and overall representing for the cool kids all across the world

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

I am currently in the second grade. Going to school during covid was really rough for me when I was a first grader. I was bullied everyday and had to defend myself every time I went to school. One day I caught back against my bully and my mom enrolled me out of that school. I was out of school for over 6 months and my city had no placement for me because all the schools were to filled. My mom found me a new school that I love and I made friends easily, however by me missing school for so long my new school decided to hold me back so I took the 2nd grade twice. By me repeating a grade I worked extra hard on my reading and writing which also helped me when it comes reading scripts and learning my lines. I had lots of obstacles but I am proud to say I am the voice for all second graders. I’m in school campaigns that consist of No Kid Hungry, The IC Bus, Educational Insights and I’m currently on my first billboard as the face of my school .
