Alright, SkyBlew thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

For me as an artist, creating meaningful projects is imperative! 🎨⛅

There’s millions of artists out there who share their art on the daily basis. What sets myself apart from the rest? Meaningful projects.. Because it’s super easy for someone to find a beat, hop on the mic, record a song and then blast it out to the world. But what makes it memorable? Catchy beat? Cool lyrics? Gimmicks? Yeah you may get attention with those things, although in my case, I want to make sure that my projects connect with the listeners on a personal level. I put my heart and soul into every song, every album. I try to give them best of me, and at times, the worst. When I create these projects, I have to tap into a place in time when I was most happiest, but also at times, miserable. Due to sharing stories of my past and nightmarish childhood. I understand that me sharing those stories, helps others. Whether they can relate to the exact situation, or they have endured some hardships that parallels the things I experienced. It’s liberation for myself and the fam who listens to the music. I want to affect people in a positive way. We’re in some troubling times, and people are looking for some sort of guidance, or at least someone to tell them that it’s not the end. That things will get better, hold your head. That’s where I come in… There’s an abundant of rappers out there who will brag about their lavish (or fabricated) lifestyle, and there’s people out there who likes it, to each their own. But what did you get from it? Was you able to really FEEL the music? The message? Maybe, but when I create my music, that’s the first thing that’s on my mind. The people need some sort of HOPE; when I scroll on social media, or watch TV, I don’t see that. It’s gloom and doom. More division. HATE. So I made it my mission, to provide the exact opposite 💙

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Let’s start with this – I Don’t Rap… I Paint The Sky,Blew!!! 🎨⛅

That’s all you need to know 😆 Nah seriously tho, I’ma ColorfulDreamer/Hip Hop Artist from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Originally from Auburn, Alabama. I grew up in foster homes, group homes etc. As I stated before, my past was kindaaaa sucked. Thankfully I had music, video games, cartoons and anime to console me. It was always my personal form of escapism… So as I got older and started to create music, it was natural to incorporate those things into my lyrics. I wrote poetry as well. Growing up my teachers used to always tell me that I have a vivid imagination and was a natural storyteller. I enjoyed writing stories, I even used to draw and write my own comics (not many people know this.) Now I tell stories through my music. I tell stories that you can visualize, which is why my slogan is – I Don’t Rap, I Paint The Sky,Blew!!! 🎨⛅ I hate storms, they suck lol. There’s many people out there who share the same sentiment. So I want them to be able to listen to my music, and it metaphorically chases the storms away. Whatever it is someone may be going through, they can play one of my songs, and it gives them hope. That’s my goal…

I’m most proud of being able to know that my music helped someone. That’s amazing, you know? I came from nothing. Didn’t think I would EVER be anything.. Life sucked and I thought it was just meant to be that way, but that’s not the case. Everything I went through was vital. Important in developing as a person, while I progressed on my journey. Because I HAD to endure those challenges, so I could use my story as inspiration for someone else. Show them that they aren’t worthless. That they can also go and do GREAT things in this world! All it takes is a Dream, and determination. As I said earlier, I’ve always turned to music, video games, cartoons & anime as escape – now fast forward to 2023, my music can be heard in video games and anime. That goes to show you that ANYTHING is possible, with a Dream 💎✨🌃🎨⛅

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

Maaan, there’s so many of them 😅

I would have to say, the period during the Covid lockdowns… Because that’s the time I was most unsure of the future. We all were… BUT, that unsurety didn’t last long for me. NOR my crew. We tightened up on ALL aspects of our lives! We worked on ways to naturally build up or health (physically, mentally & spiritually), and really tapped into our true potential!! 💎✨ When everyone thought it was the end, we labeled at as a NEW beginning. We wasn’t able to perform at live show, we put together a professional virtual concert. Couldn’t find people to shoot our music videos? We started shooting them on our own. Everywhere you looked, it was people preaching gloom & doom. We did the opposite. We used our voices and music to INSPIRE! To give them hope in tomorrow and in themselves. Tomorrow isn’t promised for any of us, which is why you have to seize the day in the meantime. Going through all of these things and not giving up, takes resilience. TRUE resilience. Determination! I’ve seen soo many dope artists give up on their careers during this time. I never gave up, because everything I went through, gave me the strength & experience points to reach this level. Now I’m ready for the final boss 😎🤙🏾💎✨💙✌🏾🎨⛅

I have plans to build an ENTERPRISE! 😎🤙🏾
I’m talking my own music label, clothing brand, books, video games, anime etc!

When I said I wanna travel the world, it’s more than just for sightseeing purposes 😅 I plan to travel the world and touch lives in each place that I visit. Being able to share my music while inspiring people from all walks of life? That fuels me. Knowing there’s a whole UNIVERSE out there to explore? That drives my creative journey 💎✨
