We were lucky to catch up with SJ Mendelson recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi SJ, thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

When I was a little child.

SJ, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I was raised in a theatrical family. However, my mother did not want me to go into show biz. She persuaded me to become a teacher. After 5 years I left that profession and went into my singing career; thank goodness. However, after becoming a single mom I gave up my career again to raise my son. I did that for 25 years until show biz called me back in 2013 at the age of 65. I haven’t stopped yet.
For the past 10 years I’ve done, commercials, reality television, broadcast tv and now I’m a TikTok influencer.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

I am sober 37 plus years and have the love of a great spouse who believes in me. That is what gives me a gung ho attitude.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

My platform on TikTok are single parents, LGBTQIA and the trans community and supporting Judaism and Jewish rights.
