We were lucky to catch up with Sixteen Bullets recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sixteen , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Sixteen Bullets takes the risk to speak truth through our music. We take the risk in combining genres in our sound. We take the risk of being outside the box of how a rock band is defined. The rewards for these risks so far, major radio air play on Rock 100.5FM (Atlanta) and a growing reception from live show auciences.
Sixteen , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Sixteen Bullets is a rock band formed in ‘2018 with a purpose to be disruptive force on the budding Atlanta rock scene. Exclusive merch items and music releases are available at 16bullets.com to downlaod as well as all streaming platforms. What sets the band apart is the uncanny ability to draw from multiple genres and fuse them with commercial appeal. We are most proud of our major radio air play and playing the Afro Punk Festival Atlanta ‘2021 stage right before T.I, Cee -lo, JID. The main thing we want is for you to be inspired when you hear our music and you can expect a full length release winter ‘2023.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Like Elwood in the Blues Brothers said, “You see, we’re on a mission from God.” If we can continue to bring people from all walks of life together through our music, that’s the win we want.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding is to engage with the audience on stage and feel them reciprocate the energy we give right back to us.
