We recently connected with Sirona Faeryn and have shared our conversation below.
Sirona, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
Without a doubt, I can say that I am very happy as a creative professional. I’ve never really wondered what it would be like to have a ‘regular’ job, though I have held a few of them in the past. Drawing from that background, I can confidently say that I’m even happier with my decision to dedicate myself to a full-time pursuit of chaos…I mean, creativity.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello there, I’m Sirona Faeryn, and I’m one half of The Faeryns – the Curator of Chaos, if you will. I’m a passionate multi-creative, exploring a whirlwind of artistic endeavors. From delicately wire-wrapped gemstone jewelry to the whimsy of clay sculptures, the vivid strokes of traditional painting, the magic captured through photography, the captivating world of resin art, the craftsmanship of leatherwork, and the charm of woodworking – I can’t resist diving headfirst into the realm of creativity.
Several years ago, I made the exhilarating choice to embark on a career fueled by my artistic passions. Encouraged by the unwavering support of my husband and inspired by the joy our creations brought to others, we founded our creative business. It’s not just about crafting art; it’s about building a vibrant community and extending a helping hand to fellow creatives and small businesses. We love hosting online shopping events where the magic of art and commerce come together in a delightful, chaotic dance. Join us in this enchanting journey, and let’s make a little creative chaos together!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Artists infuse a piece of their soul into each creation, and for me, that’s what makes the creative process so deeply fulfilling. Sharing fragments of my inner self through my artwork and witnessing the joy and appreciation it brings to others is truly one of the most gratifying aspects of my creative journey.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Supporting artists, creatives, and a thriving creative ecosystem is essential for fostering cultural enrichment and innovation. Here are some ways I feel society can help support:
-Invest in Arts Education: Promote arts education in schools to nurture creativity from a young age. Encourage students to explore their artistic talents and provide access to a broad range of artistic disciplines.
– Sharing and Promotion: Create platforms, galleries, and events where artists can show off their work. Support marketing and promotional efforts to help their creations reach more people. You’d be surprised at how far sharing a friend’s creations through social media can go.
-Community Spaces: Develop communal spaces and studios for artists and creatives to collaborate and work. These spaces can also serve as venues for exhibitions and performances.
-Art Integration: Infuse more art into public spaces, infrastructure, and urban planning. Artistic expression can make communities more vibrant and inviting.
-Encourage Collaboration: Foster collaboration between artists and other industries, such as technology and business, to create innovative solutions and expand the influence of art.
-Online Platforms: Embrace online platforms to sell art, showcase talent, and connect with a global audience. Support e-commerce platforms and digital initiatives for artists to reach a wider market.
By implementing some these measures, I believe society can provide artists and creatives with the resources, opportunities, and recognition they need to thrive, while enriching the cultural landscape and fostering innovation.
