Have you ever had to pivot?

As a Black content creator, I’ve faced challenges on platforms that don’t always support diverse voices. One pivotal moment came when I noticed my engagement dropping despite my hard work. I realized that the algorithm often favored content that conformed to mainstream trends, which didn’t always align with my authentic style and personality.

Instead of giving up, I pivoted by focusing on community building, engaging more with my supporters through live sessions rather then obsessing over numbers This shift not only revitalized my engagement but also attracted a more supportive and loyal audience who I appreciate deeply.

By staying true to myself and my mission, I found ways to navigate the platform’s challenges while amplifying my voice through humor and authenticity. It taught me the importance of resilience and perseverance as a creator, reminding me that having an awesome personality and sharing it with the world can forge a powerful connection, even in an algorithm-driven space.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.

Yes, my side hustle has definitely turned into my full-time career. I started creating content back when YouTube was still emerging, and I didn’t realize the potential it held. At the time, I wasn’t very serious about producing content, so my consistency was lacking.

Then came the pandemic, which changed everything. Like many others, I found myself at home with extra time. I began posting videos and was overwhelmed by the positive feedback and support I received. This motivated me to commit more seriously to my channel, and as I put in the effort, I began to see real growth. Consistency paid off, and it ignited my passion for this journey.

Like many creators, I can be my own worst critic, always chasing the next milestone without fully appreciating what I’ve achieved. Early on, I reached several key goals, like hitting my first 30.000 subscribers, which felt monumental. However, I quickly moved on to the next target.

As I learned to live in the moment and embrace gratitude for my progress, things became more manageable. I stopped comparing myself to others, took necessary mental breaks, and lowered my expectations from outside sources. This shift made my journey steadier and more enjoyable.

Today, with over 3 million views across my platforms, I see proof that anything is possible. I know that as long as I continue to work hard, stay faithful, and remain humble, even greater success is on the horizon.

I’m not where I want to be YET as a content creator, but I remain persistent and optimistic about my journey. I truly believe this is what I’m meant to be doing, and because of that, I know it will grow and ultimately lead to greater blessings and prosperity. With each step, I’m committed to putting in the work and staying true to my vision, confident that success is on the way.
