We recently connected with Simone Jones and have shared our conversation below.
Simone, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Consistency, if there is goal you want to accomplish you want to remain consistent to reach it. I’ve always wanted to own something and work for myself and I never knew what I actually wanted to do until 2020. I took a lash class and after the class I worked on it for 3 days and stopped for a year. When I reflected on it I said to myself “you just wasted $400 on a class and your not even using the skill” so 2021 I started practicing again and in 2022 I actually remained consistent and is still very proud of myself for doing so.

Simone, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Simone and I am a Lash Technician located in the south suburbs of Chicago. I got into the beauty industry because I love all things beauty. I started off with doing makeup in 2014, I taught myself how to do it and fell in love with it. I was doing YouTube tutorials on how to apply makeup. Eventually I lost the passion for doing it and started to focus on lashing. I started lashing officially in 2021 but remained consistent in 2022. One thing I learned about lashing is the style of lashing. Everyone does it differently and amazes me because the way lashes look will set you different from anyone else. My style in lashing is very natural and uniformed. I am proud of what I’ve accomplished so far in my business, I prayed to be where I am and happy that I continued to grow. I love working with women who loves beauty as much as I do and knowing I have clients that comes see me every 2-4 weeks lets me know I am doing a great job. Lashes are for form of self care and to all my future clients, if you are a mom or need a self care day I recommend getting lashes. It takes 2-3 hours out of your day for time to yourself and time for a nap. My clients tell me the best part of the day is the lash nap in the chair.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Growing clientele can be very hard, you have to let people know that they can trust you. The strategy I’ve been using is running ads on instagram. Running those ads gained me 395 more followers and about 10 more clients.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Some of my clients are new to lash extensions and some are experienced with them. For both new and experienced clients, I make sure I reach out to them about a week and a half after their appointment to check on them and see how their lashes are holding up. Doing this has brought a lot of clients back to me. Showing your client that you actually care plays a big part on keeping them. For my loyal clients I make sure to squeeze them in when I can. I always want to put my loyal clients first because without them my business wouldn’t be where it is today.
