We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Simone Bicek. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Simone below.
Simone, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
It actually took me over a year in my photography journey to figure out I wanted to work with more of a creative style/medium. I started my photography business back in 2020. I was mainly working with families and weddings. I enjoyed and still do enjoy working on that side of photography, but I wasn’t fully happy or inspired with it. The community I was in, did not really have much creative photographers, so I just went with what everyone did. However, when I moved to the DFW area in 2021, i decided to take the leap and get into the editorial side of photography and instantly fell in love with it. It was new and fresh. I felt like I had full control of my shoots from beginning to end. I started mixing modern fashion with a hint of fantasy and now my inner child cannot be more happy.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Simone, I’ve been a professional photographer for over 3 years. I offer services from editorial portraits, elopements/weddings and families as well. I’m well known for my warm, dreamy style.
However, 2023 I will be moving away from it. I will still be offering that style but I got comfortable with it and will be experimenting a lot this year with many styles. I want to have more storytelling elements in my work. So stay tuned for this year!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being and artist is when my clients have my work on their walls. It makes me so happy to see the ones I work with happy with the results.
Even working with freelance models, seeing our work in their portfolio that helped them get signed to an agency really makes me feel good. I love helping other creatives get the push they deserve in this industry.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My main mission for my creative journey is to create something little Simone would be proud of. I’m also using my work to show my healing process from these past years.
