We were lucky to catch up with Simona Dimov recently and have shared our conversation below.
Simona, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you take vacations? How do you keep things going – any advice for entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t step away from their business for a short vacation?
This is a tricky question for me to answer because I use my brain to come up with new ideas and creative solutions and that’s exactly the part of me that never stops, therefore taking vacations is hard. I feel like any time I plan to take time off, I recharge in a couple days and then really want to just go straight back to my passion of writing, creating and living all kinds of art forms. At the same time when I change my scenery I get extremely inspired and motivated. I guess you could call that a vacation.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I don’t want to say I am a writer or singer or actor or songwriter or producer, etc. even though I do all of these things. I never thought of myself as perfect in any of these areas but what I truly think I am is a creator and artist and whatever art form that might transcend into really depends on the subject, mood and true life circumstance. Growing up in Germany as the daughter of Eastern European immigrants I really never had access to any art classes like dance, acting, singing, instruments, but I always had the desire to tap into these fields so I started writing because I didn’t need anyone for that. Just me and my computer. Currently I am finishing up my album which will be a little different than the very sassy, girly pop music that I have released previously. It’s still girly in a sense, but I tapped into way deeper emotions and feelings that I was scared to previously write about. Almost all of the opportunities that have been presented to my came through my writing, such as screenplay writing, writing for commercials, games, etc. A challenge that I have been presented was definitely separating the artist in me and the person being hired to just deliver a certain writing or project that is designer to serve commercial needs. Time and persistence pays off and I am extremely happy to be working on several projects simultaneously, going from deeply emotional and raw work to fun, mystical and positive, bubbly work. I myself consume all kinds of arts and love them for what they are and want to create in all those areas much rather than just doing one thing over and over again. I realized that I have to learn so much and I am willing to receive information, guidance and insights from other people and making it my own, stimulating the reinvention of myself over and over again.

Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I love NFT’s because they allowed access to people that usually would not be part of the traditional art world and stock market. Plus I am working very tightly on a project that involves beautiful collectable NFT’s so I can’t help but not like them.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I get to really live and experience through what I create. All aspects of life, all emotions, all happenings, the good and the bad that balance out my entire existence live on through what I write and portray. I get to live in my own reality or fiction and make it fiction or reality.
