Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Siloam Pool. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Siloam, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
My cherished friend Christina and I met in college at the age of nineteen. Both of us were driven, intelligent, and hopeful about our future careers. She aimed to be an author, while I had always dreamed of becoming a singer. Along our respective paths, we’ve offered each other support, faced our fears, and provided encouragement and prayers, particularly during tough times.
Embarking on a musical career was a significant risk for me, I had a daunting obstacle of FEAR to overcome. Christina was the one who advised me that the fear of staying the same must be greater than the fear of change. The dread of failing my childhood aspiration motivated me. It took years to recognize my fears and then to learn how to conquer them.
A supportive inner circle is essential for personal growth throughout our life’s journey.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
People have asked how I recognized my calling as a singer early in life. I hold the conviction that everyone has a purpose, and our inherent talents and passions are essential to that purpose. In response, I often pose a question: What fascinated you and gave you joy in your childhood? What were your innate talents? What did you dream of becoming? My aim is to assist others in discovering or rekindling their own purpose.
For example, I had a passion for cars as a child. This love for cars led me to spend many years traveling with the North American Auto Shows as a spokesperson, which helped me overcome my fear of speaking to large audiences. This experience was crucial in developing the skills needed to be an outstanding performer.
I am deeply grateful for not allowing fear to paralyze me. My aspiration to be a singer guided me towards songwriting, which in turn led me to become a record producer. As my journey progressed, I was so blessed to meet and collaborate with incredibly talented people. SiloamPool embodies the collective spirit of those who unite with us in spreading positivity and love.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I take pleasure in providing encouragement and support to others through my music creation and performances. We consider our followers and fans “Poolers.” Music is a powerful channel for incredible synergy, we appreciate that we are able to connect with people in our global community, it is a phenomenal experience. This fuels my dedication to produce music that is thought-provoking, uplifting, and entertaining.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
This is an intriguing question because I don’t view humans as non-creatives. If we are the result of creation, then it would imply that we are indeed creative, right?
That said, creativity manifests in many forms beyond the traditional “artist.” Consider the teacher who devises methods to present a lesson in a way that students with diverse learning styles can grasp. Or the parent who must prepare meals with whatever ingredients are available or find ways to balance the budget. Or the individual strategizing on how to secure an interview for their ideal job.
We all experience numerous occasions like these that require our “creativity”.
