We were lucky to catch up with Sierra Upshaw recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sierra, thanks for joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
Living authentically has really transformed my life, so I’m excited to share this process with you all. After experiencing intense transformation I felt lost. I was disconnecting from my power so I intentionally followed these guidelines to get back to myself. My journey led me to know the power in being me. I want us to all know our authentic gifts. I wrote “Elevate Your Artistry” to provide practical tools for an elevated understanding. This information is geared towards creative people yet anyone ready to thrive on their own terms will benefit from this book. Existing in my truest nature is the catalyst for fulfilling every desire, so I am confident about success.
Sierra, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Growing up in Cleveland, I learned about work ethic and attending CSA showed me the beauty of individuality. Along the way life left me heartbroken leaving me to put all my energy into rebuilding myself. Experience has shown me that living authentically is the basis to fulfillment. May we all create success on our own terms. I feel so free and want others embodying this energy to shift the collective mindset to an uplifted one. With art having the ability to impact us all, every creative person should use their gifts intentionally. The ways vary as our creativity does so no role is insignificant. Our influence can be used for the greater good and this book is my step in that direction. May we all know the freedom that comes from living authentically.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My commitment to authenticity encourages me to share my process unapologetically.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
After leaving LA I was challenged to reexamine what I recognized as success. I’ve learned that my spiritual health is where my focus should live for everything else will fall into place. I like the way i’m showing up in my daily walk and want others to feel this empowered.
