We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sierra Rohan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sierra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about how you got your first non-friend, non-family client. Paint the picture for us so we can feel the same excitement you felt on that day.
I honestly googled “Ambassador programs” for my favorite brands and applied. I heard back in a few weeks that I was accepted. Glossier was my first paid partnership through affiliate links, they also provided free product to make creating a little easier. It was a real “pinch me” moment, being a small creator and being accepted to a low acceptance rate program- it was truly where I started gaining confidence.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Sierra Rohan — a Marketing and Entrepreneurship student at Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business, content creator, and community marketer passionate about helping brands connect authentically with Gen Z.
I first discovered my love for marketing back in high school, when I started my own small business and learned how storytelling, design, and social media could bring a brand to life. That experience shaped how I approach marketing today — as a mix of strategy and creativity that meets people where they are.
Now, I create content and campaigns that blend brand storytelling with real campus life — from leading partnerships and events to developing relatable, scroll-stopping content for brands like Glossier and Parade. I love finding creative ways to turn everyday student moments into brand touchpoints that feel organic and community-driven, not transactional.
What sets my work apart is how I combine hands-on student insights with a deep understanding of Gen Z behavior. Whether it’s hosting experiential events like “Nailing Networking” or building digital campaigns that drive real engagement, my goal is always to make marketing feel human again — rooted in connection, emotion, and authenticity.
I’m most proud of how my work bridges the gap between brands and students — helping both sides feel seen, heard, and inspired. For anyone discovering me or my work, I want them to know that I’m not just building content — I’m building community, one campaign at a time.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I feel like I am not the best person to ask as I am still growing at what feels like a very very slow rate. What grew my following was being authentic while implementing a strategy. You often hear others tell you to “niche down” and unfortunately that is what works most. But as someone who creates content for the sake of creating and meeting others, I have many things to talk about. Setting up series were the biggest thing for my growth as a creator. I have a “Monday Morning Matcha” Series and my Philly experiences series “Trying to love Philly… again.” and “Using My Travel Fund To Explore Philly” I also have an “Another day, Another Cafe” series that has been doing well.
I like to combine comfort content with adrenaline rushes or rage bait, it makes my content confusing but in an interesting, scroll-stopping way.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Everything is content. When you are very ambitious or involved within your work, especially something like content creation where the lines between work and life are often blurred, there is often a hurdle to jump over. I have lost many friends or have had issues with my friends because I am always filming or I always have an event to attend or something to work on.
There is a privilege that tags along with the life of content creation. Free dinners, free products, and getting paid to be yourself. These make it hard to find friends that are true, and don’t just want things from you. I have had friends begin content creation and now we only hang out for events or filming, nothing “friendly” or just hangs. So it has been hard for me to just have friends and “friend time” without filming or worrying about work on either ends.
