We were lucky to catch up with Sierra Gomez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sierra, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
I am happy as an artist because I love to create. However there are occasionally some things that can make art tough. It can be hard staying motivated enough to create artwork. It can also be tough to believe in yourself as creator to pursue a career in the field. However, it is the challenges endured that make you a better artist and give you the strength to persevere.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve always loved drawing, a passion that began in my childhood. However, as I got older, life’s demands made it harder to stay consistent with it. Despite the challenges, I kept drawing because, honestly, it became a form of escape and healing for me. In high school, my art teachers played a significant role in nurturing my talent, and that’s when I realized I couldn’t let go of art. If I didn’t pursue it, I knew I’d regret it. After graduating highschool, I made the decision to follow my passion and enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where I earned my BFA.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being an artist is being able to create art and see people’s reactions to my art. Whether it be scared or happy I love that people can view my art and feel something.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My main goal is to get as many people to see my artwork as possible. If I could get one new person to see my artwork every day, I will be extremely happy. I just want others to enjoy my artwork just as much as I enjoy creating it!
