Alright, Sierra thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
We bring a loving environment for all ages and fandom. We feel that our area is underserved when it comes to toys and video game stores. We bring all the fun and happiness to our community. We love sharing the vintage and modern day fandoms with everyone!
Sierra, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We started online during COVID with just miscellaneous items (I.e eBay, Mercari etc.) We then got so popular between our three platforms that it was time to get a store front. We want to bring love and happiness to all our customers whether that me personal finds for the customer or even nostalgia as gifts or for their own person collections. We buy, sell , and trade all types of toys from Star Wars to anime to funko pops. Our store is packed with all types of items that you can spend hour searching for and browsing through finding new items ever time. We take pride in having and finding everything for everyone! We love to see the smiles faces of our customers!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
We built our audience through Tik Tok and Instagram. It started with our friends sharing and posting our business on our own personal accounts. From there we got into school clubs and by handing out business cards in and outside the store. I would suggest starting off with Tik Tok and Instagram posting some videos and using popular sounds and hashtags
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Our most effective way has been traveling to toy conventions across the state. Being able to connect with individuals on a personal level and advertising our website and store front by communicating and showing off our social media.
