We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Siera Sambrosky. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Siera below.
Siera, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
I think there are several things that I do that are different from the industry standard. The first being that when a business owner comes to me for consulting on their business I won’t isolate my assessment to the business alone. It is a truly holistic approach so the owner, themselves, gets an assessment and some tweaking also. Our businesses are a direct reflection of who we are and what is going on with us internally and in our lives. It’s like evaluating why someone’s walk is off, but only looking at one leg.
The more obvious thing that I do that is very different from the industry norm is that I use my spiritual gifts to hone in on exactly what needs the focus, the work, and how. The truth is top executives and business owners around the world say they listen to their “gut” or maybe even call it their intuition. So people are doing it they just don’t understand or acknowledge it at the same level as I do. I 100% am loud and proud (now) about the fact that I have a heightened ability to connect with Spirit/Universe/Source whatever you want to call it. We all are that higher conscious/God essence and we all have the connection. The way some people are very athletically inclined and gifted at sports, I am with spiritual gifts. I can’t play kickball but I can talk to dead people!
I have tons of great examples and stories how my spiritual gifts gave me really specific guidance and directions to help a client excel but my favorite is probably how it got me to the table with the NFL. I was given a gigantic opportunity meeting, the then CIO of the NFL, at a conference because I listened to the guidance and nudge that I was given. It ended up that I got to pitch a room full of NFL executives who agreed to do a research trial inside their organization. It was an amazing highlight of my career, and a huge win for my client at the time!
Siera, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I like to think of myself as a trailblazing intuitive, holistic strategist and healer. I combine my twenty years of business consulting experience with a rich background in self-directed healing to transform individuals, and their organizations. My unique fusion of expertise in Grief Facilitation and Holistic Health along with my innate intuitive abilities enables me to guide my clients on their journey of reinvention and regeneration. I place a special focus on supporting those navigating transitions and grief, because I’ve come to realize that not ever one can hold space and shepherd people through life’s most challenging moments. I find immense fulfillment in being able to help carry people through some of their darkest times.
In my work, there is a dynamic intersection of business, self-healing, and spirituality. I believe this causes me to stand out as a beacon of transformative insight. I’ve integrated my deep understanding of self-directed growth and healing into strategies that catalyze profound change for both a person and all the aspects of their life, and business. My unique blend of skills offer guidance, clarity, and direction to those in transition and those grappling with grief-from whatever source. My spiritual gifts further elevate my ability to provide unseen information and insights that help to “speed up” and laser in on exactly what a person needs to address and how.
True to my personality and life journey, I would say that I deliver my work with a direct and no-nonsense approach wrapped in compassion. I focus on empowering my clients with their own self-discovery and deepening their connection to their highest potential and Spirit. I believe deeply in being able to provide specific action steps and making a very individualized, strategic plan for where my client is trying to go and achieve once we have uncovered for them what they truly want for themselves, their family, and their life. Deep self-discovery is a huge part of my work.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The unlearning process has been huge for me in so many ways! As I believe it is key for anyone looking for transformation and growth. One of the biggest for me was probably around doing things in such a traditional and masculine energy driven way. When I was younger all of that worked. I was working almost entirely in male dominated industries and I had a lot of my own insecurities and fears. So I tried to cover it up and over compensate with it by over achieving, over giving, being super action oriented and over working. I also adopted more male type personality traits and really became like “one of the guys” in so many ways. And one day it was like the switch went off. The personality and over working and over giving, all that, no longer was getting me the results and success that I had gotten used to.
At the end of the day, while having suffered multiple bouts with exhaustion and burnout, as well as some pretty severe depression spells, I really started focusing on my own healing. I began to see and understand my value and skills and all that I was good at and could contribute WITHOUT adopting the old conforming habits and personality traits. When I would fall into a place where I had some fear or insecurity coming up, and reverted back to those tactics, they no longer worked. And the more growing and healing I did, the less and less I was getting anywhere professionally until I learned to be me and use the strategies and tactics that aligned and resonated with this new version of myself. But it was a long and painful process until I really figured out why all the ways of doing business and being a respected professional no longer were working, and in fact, were bringing me a deep sense of failing.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
It feels like my whole life has been a pivot! LOL At one point I had started a holistic health coaching practice in conjunction with business consulting. I was doing them both separately. And it was totally not going any where. I knew that I knew stuff about others that gave me the ability to laser in on exactly what they needed to do and how to get the results, but I wasn’t getting any clients. What I did realize though was that people in my life, strangers, acquaintances were coming to me for relationship and dating advice. And so I pivoted my coaching practice to focus on that and had a lot different experience. So that was a second iteration of my business. That only had minimal success and I eventually came to the realization that combining the consulting and a holistic approach to transition coaching was really what I was meant to be doing.
The main thing is that we change and evolve. Life causes us to change and if we have some awareness and desire, we will be best served to pursue our own growth and evolution. This means that as our businesses must morph and grow and change also! People think, “well, I started this business and it looks like ‘this’ so I need to stick with that.” You aren’t the same person as you were ten years ago or twenty or five-whatever it is. So it’s ok for your business to pivot and take on different forms also.
Now, I focus on this integrative and holistic fusion of working with a business owner and their business-particularly those that have gone through a major loss or life transition. It’s something that I could have never seen or understood myself to be doing twenty years ago. Probably not even ten!
Change with your experiences-good, bad, or ugly. Let your business and life change as you do.
