Siera, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?

My mom has always emphasized the importance of education in my life. She provided me opportunities to learn and experience the world which sparked my love of travel. In my career, it has inspired me to always be eager to learn more about all of the destinations that I book for my guests so that I can help make the best recommendations to plan the best vacation for their desires and interests. I have been able to gain certifications and training to expand my knowledge in my field.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I have been a travel professional for 10 years. I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Brain, Behavior and Cognitive Science and applied that fall for a career with Destinations to Explore. I had an extensive background of travel having visited over ten countries on four continents during my educational journey.

I specialize in romance and family travel. I help busy moms and dads plan their family’s spring break and summer vacations. I help brides and grooms plan their dream destination wedding and honeymoon to start their very own happily ever after. For Disney vacations, I have been a lifelong visitor and annual passholder for the last ten years. I spend at least 6-8 weeks annually at the Walt Disney World Resort. I have traveled with friends, my husband, my kids, my parents, and extended family so I can share all of that knowledge with you, as well. We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

COVID was a very challenging time in the travel industry. When the world shutdown in March 2020, I had hundreds of guests affected by cancellations and closures. I spent weeks helping my guests adjust their travel plans, whether it be cancelling or rescheduling. Then, once things began to reopen again, it was a challenge to remain knowledgeable about the various testing and/or vaccine requirements in addition to healthy and safety protocols for various travel destinations all over the world. However, I persisted throughout these challenges and helped my guests to the best of my abilities and am now happily booking new destinations all over the world as we work towards a post-pandemic world.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

I believe that my dedication to my career and my guests has helped me build my reputation within my market. I do not book travel as just a hobby or a side hustle and this shows in my relationships with my guests and the access that they have to me to assist throughout the vacation planning process and even throughout their travels. I am always available to help and happy to help. I keep open communication and do my best to ensure that they have the best vacation possible.
