We were lucky to catch up with Siena Solinda recently and have shared our conversation below.
Siena, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?
In college, I was in a music video for a metal band called Blackcast from San Diego. It was my first ever music video I auditioned for and booked on Backstage. I LOVED every second of it. They paid me and gave me 2 free tickets to their show! That was definitely the project that inspired me to be in more music videos.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am an actress, model, artist from Orange County, CA. I grew up being very active and artistic and went back and forth between what exactly I wanted to pursue. It wasn’t till applying to colleges that I decided to study acting further. I went to San Diego State University where I graduated with a degree in Theatre Performance and from there I decided to move home to save money to eventually move to Los Angeles. My love for acting moved from stage to film pretty early on in college and I have been in love with it ever since. I began modeling when I graduated college, which I have been doing a lot of since moving to LA. I also joined an acting class called Studio 24Seven coached by Mark McPherson, which gave me a community of incredibly talented artists and actors who’ve offered me endless support and love in this industry. Since moving to LA, I’ve booked 2 feature films, commercials for companies such as Arizona Lottery and Blue Diamond Almond Milk, and music videos for Mayday Parade, Dayseeker, Doja Cat, and MANY more. Currently I have been modeling for brands such as Blue Planet, HOKA, and Michelob Ultra just to name a few! I am so grateful for my time in LA and am loving every second of it!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding and important part, especially where I currently am in my creative journey, would have to be the relationships I’ve formed. I have met some of my favorite people through doing my art and feeling free to be vulnerable. Being able to share art that you care so deeply about is such a beautiful human experience that I adore. Having a community or group of people who love to create is so important in building a strong positive experience, especially in an industry that can so easily tear you down. The relationships you make are important to help build you back up.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Honestly, my goals constantly change because I want to do everything. Being creative to me means being constantly hungry for more. Sometimes my goal is simply to be able to make a living with money I’ve earned from my art. Other times my goals are huge like I will work and WORK until I am sitting in my trailer with Margot Robbie and we are running lines for a movie where I am a lead, and she asks what MY process is for crying on camera! My goals also change because my acting goal differs from my modeling goal, which differs from my artist goal. In the end, I truly want it all. I want a happy, full, lived, artistic life where I have the freedom to create.
