We recently connected with Sidney Alfred and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sidney, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project was performing during Arizona Fashion Week 2023. I received an offer to perform through my friend, India, who specializes in fashion and knew a designer, Leo, with LoveUrDesign.
When she heard I could sing, she introduced me to Josh Deener, a professional drummer and film director. When he heard my audio concept for the show, we were thrilled to record and perform the song, “Better” live. Once the day of the show arrived, the performance and turn out of the show became a huge success.
The AZFW 2023 show is a meaningful project because it was the personal staple for me to continue to professionally pursue a career in music. Since the fashion show, I’ve received opportunities to perform in the first Phoenix R&B Psypher, Arizona Music Fest 2024 and private events (weddings, parties, etc.). Going forward, I look forward to upcoming inquires and opportunities to share my gift to sing to the world.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve been sing almost all my life. My parents always sung around the house, but my mother all during her youth. During her modeling days, she would sing as her talent to share. Thankfully, the talent passed down to me at age 13.
During high school at age 16, I was able to tour in Chicago & New York’s Carnegie Hall at age 17. Throughout my 20’s, I performed in the church choir and in Arizona State University. Finally, at age 30, I received an opportunity to perform in Arizona Fashion Week 2023. Last year, I performed in the first Phoenix R&B Psypher, Arizona Music Festival and private events (weddings, parties, etc.).
I’m extremely proud of taking a chance on myself to believe, hone and honor my craft of music. Confidence is a challenge to build and being brave in sharing your gifts isn’t always easy in a world of judgement. As I continue to grow, I’m grateful to have the ability to sing and trust myself to take a chance in pursuing my passion to my fullest potential.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to collaborate and participate with other creatives to network, record and release more music and content. I’m striving to bring a Grammy, Oscar AND Emmy home one day. Collaboration and consistent growth in the arts is my current mission in hopes to execute my goals all life long.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Share, share, SHARE! In a world where media is forever changing, creatives MUST step out on faith, overcome fear and create as much art to share as possible. You never know what you’re capable of or what opportunities arise until you do the work to consistently practice your craft and share what’s being cultivated and completed.
