Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to SIDDHARTH AGRAWAL. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi SIDDHARTH, thanks for joining us today. Do you take vacations? Why or why not?
Certainly! Taking breaks is crucial for rejuvenation and inspiration. As a cinematographer, I recognize the importance of periodic vacations to explore and gain fresh perspectives. While I do take vacation time, ensuring the continuity of my work involves meticulous planning and delegation. My advice to entrepreneurs, especially those in creative fields, is to prioritize self-care and recognize that stepping away temporarily can lead to renewed creativity and a deeper connection with one’s craft. During these breaks, the opportunity to absorb new experiences often translates into elevated artistic expression upon returning to work.

SIDDHARTH, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a cinematographer who transitioned into the world of filmmaking from a computer science engineering background in India. My journey began with a keen interest in photography, leading me to join a college media team and discover the transformative power of storytelling in film. Currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Cinematography at the New York Film Academy, I am passionate about crafting visually compelling narratives that resonate emotionally with audiences.
In terms of services, I offer expertise in cinematography, contributing to various film projects and taking pride in my ability to seamlessly integrate visuals with storytelling. From directing photography on multiple short films to collaborating with talented individuals, I approach each project with a holistic understanding of the cinematographic process.
What sets me apart is a meticulous focus on visual aesthetics, learned through formal education and hands-on experience. My commitment to adapting to challenges, as evidenced by my international relocation for education, reflects resilience and determination.
I am most proud of my ability to navigate hurdles, be it starting a media team in college, overcoming financial challenges during international education, or embracing the dynamic nature of cinematography. As a creative professional, I emphasize the importance of taking breaks for exploration, recognizing that moments of respite can lead to newfound inspiration and elevated artistic expression.
For potential clients, followers, and fans, I want them to know that I bring a unique blend of technical expertise and artistic vision to every project. My work is a testament to a relentless pursuit of excellence, a commitment to continuous learning, and a passion for creating visual stories that leave a lasting impact.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative, for me, lies in the ability to evoke emotions and connect with audiences on a profound level. Creating visual stories as a cinematographer allows me to craft experiences that resonate emotionally, transcending language and cultural barriers. Witnessing the impact of my work, whether it’s conveying a powerful message or eliciting a specific emotion, is incredibly fulfilling. The dynamic and ever-evolving nature of the creative process also brings a sense of constant growth and exploration, making each project a unique and rewarding journey.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Certainly. One notable instance that reflects my resilience occurred during my pursuit of education in cinematography at the New York Film Academy. Relocating to a new country came with its own set of challenges, including cultural differences and, most significantly, unforeseen financial burdens.
Assuming that tuition and living expenses would be the primary financial responsibilities, I was taken aback upon realizing that, in addition, we were required to fund our class assignments—an expense that hadn’t been initially accounted for. Coming from a middle-class family in India, this unanticipated financial strain became a considerable burden.
Despite these challenges, I remained resilient. I sought solutions, explored additional funding options, and persevered through the financial difficulties. The experience taught me resourcefulness, adaptability, and reinforced my commitment to pursuing my passion for cinematography.
Ultimately, overcoming these hurdles not only contributed to my personal growth but also underscored the importance of resilience in navigating the dynamic and often unpredictable nature of a career in the creative arts.
