Hi Sid, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with a hypothetical question – if it were up to you, what would you change about the school or education system to better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career?

I believe the education system needs to evolve to better prepare students for fulfilling lives and careers. One of the key changes I would advocate for is a shift away from rote memorization and standardized testing, toward fostering creativity, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving. These skills are crucial for navigating the complexities of the modern world, especially in fields that are constantly evolving like technology and AI.

To truly prepare students, the system should incorporate more experiential learning opportunities—things like project-based learning, internships, and entrepreneurial experiences. These hands-on experiences would help students discover their passions, develop practical skills, and learn how to apply their knowledge in meaningful ways. I believe that if students had the chance to work on real-world problems and collaborate across disciplines, they would not only be better prepared for their careers but also find more fulfillment in the process.

From my own schooling, I know how transformative these kinds of experiences can be. The most impactful experiences I had in school were the ability to build my own projects in computer science and software engineering courses. These opportunities gave me the freedom to experiment, make mistakes, and solve problems in my own way. I remember working on projects that required not only technical skills but also creativity and persistence. This taught me how to think like an innovator and gave me the confidence to tackle big challenges.

These experiences were pivotal in helping me become a self-starter and eventually led to the founding of my AI development firm, NexGen AI Solutions. The ability to take an idea, build it from scratch, and see it come to life gave me the skills and mindset needed to navigate the entrepreneurial world. I firmly believe that if more students were given the same opportunities to experiment and create in school, they would be better equipped to forge their own paths, both professionally and personally.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

When I started NexGen AI Solutions, I made the decision not to take any outside capital. I wanted to maintain complete control over the direction of the business and ensure that every step was aligned with my vision. To make that possible, I bootstrapped the company myself. At the time, I was working three different software engineering jobs simultaneously to generate the capital I needed to get the business off the ground.

It was a challenging period, to say the least. Balancing multiple roles while also planning and building NexGen was intense, but it taught me invaluable lessons in discipline, time management, and persistence. I was able to use the skills and knowledge I gained from each of these roles to further refine the offerings of my own company, applying best practices and innovative ideas from different industries.

Looking back, I’m proud that I was able to bootstrap the business on my own. It gave me a deep understanding of every aspect of my company, from the technical details to the financials, and allowed me to build something that truly reflects my vision. That experience shaped the core of NexGen AI Solutions—it’s a company built on hard work, resourcefulness, and a relentless commitment to innovation.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

One of the defining moments in my journey that truly tested my resilience was when I moved to Miami completely on my own with just $2,000 to my name and no support system. It was a leap of faith, but I was determined to build something meaningful from scratch. To make ends meet, I worked three different jobs simultaneously, all while competing as a bodybuilder. This wasn’t just a test of physical endurance—it was a mental challenge as well.

Balancing three jobs while training as a competitive bodybuilder required a highly strict regimen. My days were mapped out to the minute. From early morning workouts to late-night coding sessions, I had to ensure every task was executed with precision. Bodybuilding taught me the importance of discipline, consistency, and pushing through discomfort—qualities that I carried into my professional life as well.

That experience built the foundation of who I am today. It was in those challenging times that I learned how to handle pressure, manage my time, and stay focused on long-term goals despite short-term obstacles. Looking back, that period taught me the resilience that has been instrumental in building NexGen AI Solutions from the ground up.
