We recently connected with Shyra Lateece and have shared our conversation below.
Shyra , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
It’s been said and it’s true. Empowered women empower women. My passion comes from being in a place where I didn’t operate as my best self. I can’t say that I didn’t know better because I did. I was just in a place where I settled. I went through a season that was so unnecessary if only I had just been bold enough to enforce my boundaries. The crazy part is the whole time women were being sent to me to uplift and encourage. We all know that it’s easier to give advice sometimes than it is to take it. I’m here to help women understand who they are sooner than later, because some lessons you don’t have to learn when you have some one in your community with the experience. I am encouraged by all the women I have been able to coach. The constant feedback about how I’ve helped them pushes me even harder. This is what it’s all about and I’m happy to be here and walking in my purpose.
Shyra , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Shyra Lateece I’m an empowerment coach. I’ve been coaching women for years before I realized it and then got serious about my purpose. I love empowering women. I want to see them knowing whose they are and who they are. What’s Hey Girl? Hey Girl is about being transparent and open to the fact that we can’t do life alone. We need each other and if we’re honest we all need a Hey Girl moment which is similar to a self-check and then other times we have to check our friends. Respectfully.
My soul purpose is to remind you of your worth. I want to see you grow and not apologize for it. You deserve to by healthy, whole and free from TOXIC relationships and self doubt . I help women feel more confident about who they are and walking in their worth. The girls love it here. The community of girls is growing everyday. I’ve been in this industry since a young girl and it wasn’t until 2 years ago that I realized it and got serious about what I was called to do. Women have always been drawn to me. I provide one on ones, a group experience in the fall (Girls Giving) and affirmation products (apparel, journal, and affirmation cards) as a constant reminder to who you are. Bi weekly I host a podcast (Hey Girl w/ Shyra Lateece. Be sure to check it out.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I show up as myself everyday there are enough copy cats in the world. People desire things that are genuine. I have been able to grow just by being who I am. Slow and steady can win races too. We live in a time where people can skip the natural progression of things because of the power of social media which is fine. However, if you are unprepared it can do more harm than good. I’ll wait my turn if I have too. Some of the best things take time. If I could share any advice it would be to continue to show up as yourself be consistent and genuine.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Whew life is full of pivots. Being out front has def been a pivot for me. I finally accepted the fact of producing products then God telling me to host an event in the fall. I was like get somebody else to do it. I mean I did it and we’re running it back again. Growth stretches you and learning to be open to it is a process within itself.
