We were lucky to catch up with Shylynn Imbraguglio recently and have shared our conversation below.
Shylynn, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, let’s imagine that you were advising someone who wanted to start something similar to you and they asked you what you would do differently in the startup-process knowing what you know now. How would you respond?
If I were to embark on my journey as a spray tan artist all over again, I would dedicate more time to education before stepping into the role of a provider.
In many states, you can start offering spray tans without any legal qualifications. While I took the initiative to research and get certified in Kentucky, I soon realized there was a vast amount of knowledge I hadn’t yet grasped, much of which became apparent only after I began my professional journey.
This experience has underscored the importance of thorough preparation and continuous learning in mastering this industry.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
What sets me apart from others in the industry is my commitment to a personalized experience. I take the time to consult with each client, discussing their goals and desired outcomes, which allows me to create a customized tan that enhances their natural beauty. I’m particularly proud of the community I’m building—one that encourages women to embrace their individuality and feel confident in their skin.
Above all, I want potential clients to know that my mission goes beyond just providing a service. I aim to educate and uplift, fostering a space where women can feel empowered and radiant. Your beauty is unique, and I’m here to help you shine.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I actively engage with women in my industry and beyond by networking through various platforms, attending women’s workshops, and participating in hobby clubs. This approach not only helps me grow my community from the ground up but also allows me to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for beauty and empowerment. I believe in the power of collaboration and support among women, and I strive to foster a sense of camaraderie within my community.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
