Shyenne , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

My name is Shyenne, but my close friends often call me Shy. As a child, the nickname felt fitting simply because I was exactly that, a shy girl. I was reserved, and socializing wasn’t something I did often, I was quiet. As years went by the name stuck with me. When I started my photography business, I went through a few different names to see which one would be the perfect name for my business, including ShyenneSweetPhotography and ShySherellPhotography, before finally deciding on ShotByShy. This name not only incorporates my name but also represents the type of person I used to be. When people see the name ShotByShy, I hope it conveys a sense of boldness and confidence, knowing that I was the one who captured that wonderful photo.

Shyenne , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My name is Shyenne Sweet and I am from Winslow, Arizona. I currently reside in Phoenix, Arizona, and moving to the city has been a positive change in my life. Photography has always been an interest of mine since I was a kid. During the Myspace days, I used to take pictures of my twin brother outside of our house. Over time, I continued to take pictures and tried editing them with the low-quality filters social media provided. As I grew older, I became an aunt and started taking pictures of my nieces and nephew, not knowing the logistics of photography.

After graduating from high school and moving to Phoenix, I connected with my older cousin who was in the photography industry for 18+ years. I worked with him a few times and shadowed his passion for photography. He provided me with my very first professional camera and encouraged me to take photography seriously. Three years later, here I am. I have stayed consistent since I first started my business and I’ve loved the journey thus far.

I specialize in various types of photography such as Concerts, Portraits, Maternity, Engagements, Birthdays, Weddings, Corporate, Events, and lifestyle photos. What sets me apart from other photographers is my great range. I can shoot anything from a portrait session in a studio to a concert with your favorite artists while maintaining quality and wonderful images.

What I am most proud of is gaining confidence in myself while being a great photographer. As previously mentioned I used to be shy and very reserved, but because I have to interact with individuals, network, and run a business, I’ve learned to be confident in myself and my talent. What I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know about me is that this is just the beginning. I’m determined to be one of the best photographers out of Arizona and will continue to produce amazing work.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

I may share the same goal with others, or it could be completely different. However, my current mindset is geared towards becoming one of the best photographers in Arizona. Whether this leads me to work directly with more celebrities/ music artists, go on tour, or simply become the go-to photographer for everyone, success in this talent I’ve been blessed with is my ultimate goal. Whatever may come my way on this journey, I will be more than grateful.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

I find it incredibly rewarding when someone chooses to work with me and trusts me to capture their special moments. Seeing my clients’ satisfaction and excitement after our photo sessions is truly heartwarming. It is a great feeling to know that I have done a good job and that my work has helped create lasting memories for them. This is what makes me happy and motivates me to continue doing what I love.
