We recently connected with Shyanne Gubler and have shared our conversation below.
Shyanne, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Honestly my life has been full of risk taking ideas and not all of them have turned out well; especially when it comes to my business ventures.
My poor husband can attest to all my attempts. My biggest cheerleader and logical advisor. My husband has been through all my risk taking but he has helped me while heartedly each and every time.
I’m going to tell you about my most recent and currently on going adventure. The purchase of my Percheron.
Growing up I always loved horses especially the big draft horses. One particular breed had caught my eye the Percheron; a large and majestic breed that excels in power, grace and beauty. My love was fully solidified in college when I was selected to ride moose a 17.2hh grey Percheron gelding. I was living the life and dreamed of the day I would get to own such a giant.
Several years later, I’m happily married with two beautiful boys and itching to live my life to the fullest. I wanted horses, a farm, an orchard, a huge garden and a house to call my own. Sadly the market has not been friendly to our dreams.
In random browsing and a few old connections I found a beautiful Percheron mare. She was a little outside my budget and way out of my travel distance. Living in Utah with a new baby there was no way I was going to be able to drop everything and drive out to North Carolina to see if I like a random horse; but my heart was stuck. It took a lot of discussions, and soul searching for my husband and I to come to a conclusion.
I didn’t want to wait until my life was perfect to start chasing my dreams. The fear of missing out of memories, getting too old to enjoy what I loved and not sharing it with my family really sealed the deal.
Luckily I am blessed with an amazing family and a community that supports me. We pulled some strings, scraped the funds together and had my new horse shipped across the nation.
That beautiful mare has been a pillar in our lives. By no means is she convenient and the road has been rocky but my husband and I both agree we wouldn’t change a thing. It was completely the wrong time to buy a horse. We didn’t even have a place to keep her but she started us on an adventure that blessed our lives, family and now the community!
Carriage rides, Christmas caroling, Pioneer Peach Days, Western States Classic Draft Shows; these are just a few of the adventures we have set out on all because a risk we took as a family and one hindered percent don’t regret.

Shyanne, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My story is still not complete or an ideal business display; we have worked hard to build what we have.
We still don’t have our beautiful house, rolling acres or even a fruit tree in the ground; but what we do have is the best with what we’ve been given.
I am a stay at home mom raising my two beautiful boys. I work from home caring for other little ones. My typical day is surrounded by five or six children under the age of four. In the midst of the chaos I find time to milk goats, raise chickens, make goat milk soaps and lotions, bake breads, garden and market our goods at the local Farmers market.
In the spare time I have not spent with my family; I give carriage rides at weddings, family events, birthdays, city celebrations and holidays events.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
To be honest, charismatic communication. I love meeting with the community sharing my story and showing everyone what I love to do.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Most of my products are food or hygienic products so many of my clients came to me by chance at the local farmers market.
I wanted to make sure I had the best product I can offer keeping my items pure, effective and affordable.
I get told all the time I need to raise prices, I’m not charging enough but the reality is I’m here for consistent clients not a quick Buck. I would rather have a returning local that enjoys my products than a one time big pay out.
Most my soap and lotion clients return to me because my products work. They are effective hydrating and long lasting.
My bread clients return for the healthier option to classic sandwich bread and it’s addictive. In addition, the rotating flavors are alluring yet delicious making a visit back to me a fun social event taste testing new products.
