We were lucky to catch up with Shweta S recently and have shared our conversation below.
Shweta, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I have always lived my life with courage of conviction. I have never entertained manipulative, selfish people, doesn’t matter who they are. As a woman it’s important to stand for your values. What is life without a risk. It’s better to live short life with all those challenges instead of living unhappy life.I have always taken huge risks from my early childhood and the one risk changed my life ,when I have decided to get Masters degree in London when I was doing so well professionally at that time . It was my comfort zone. I was very comfortable and settled in my career but I knew I am capable of doing much more than this so I started my new journey in unknown country to start everything from the scratch without any financial support from anyone.
It wasn’t easy to leave high paid comfortable career and begin again. But I took this as a challenge. I went there without much money and started studying in my field. I supported my education & living by doing part time jobs as university student advisor and many basic jobs in retail and shops.
It was difficult to manage job and studies but I was very focused on what I want.
and later after all those hardships, struggles, adjustments I got my degree and then got a good Job in my own field. Later I never looked back and continued to contribute in field of medicine for betterment of patient life. So I think it’s important to set high standards for ourselves and unlock our highest potential. Without risks we don’t get to know how capable we are. Without risk we settled for things we don’t deserve. Life is a risk.
I always suggest people to take calculated risk and give your 100 percent to get what you deserve.
Never settle for less and compromise your core values and dreams for anything.
Shweta, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am Scientist & Certified life coach by profession. Dance is my passion. My Life coach services has given me chance to help people & spread mental awareness. I have done fashion modeling assignments in the past. After winning Pageant my life has changed a lot, I get modeling offers from fashion industry, my business is expanded. I am doing charity work now. I always wanted to represent myself through my profession and arts.
I would like to share my story behind how I got into this pageant competition.
Challenges are part of life. They are meant to help us know who we are, they can hit our weakness but unlock our true strengths. There is no other way to know our actual potential and personal growth.
For me being a new mom in postpartum phase was really challenging because of my post-pregnancy weight gain, severe back pain, mood swings, full-time job, High BP, and plantar fasciitis condition which causes leg pain so managing baby, housework, and my health was difficult. I gained lot of weight.
So, one day I looked at the mirror and felt inside that it wasn’t me, I am much more than this. So that day decided to challenge myself to become fit and happy version of myself. So decided to participate in beauty pageant to challenge myself and started working on my health and fitness.
I have Participated in pageant events for the reason to prove a point that Mothers can also have dreams and have potential to fulfill them.
What works for me is planning daily routine and time management.I have lost around 55 pounds weight in short time.
I started drinking plenty of water, eating healthy protein-rich food, started doing Suryanamaskar yoga, and meditation, and lost weight in few months with discipline and determination.
Ladies no one will give you opportunities but you need to go out and grab one for yourself and work hard on those opportunities because they come once in a while, make something of yourself. Be independent and fearless. Don’t let anyone tell you what you can’t do. Believe in yourself, believe in higher power. Work on your dreams as It’s already written in your will to get what you want with discipline and good intention to help society.
I think all my hard work paid off when I won pageant winner crown and I was representing all new moms and women with dreams. I got many modeling offers and opportunities later.
My biggest inspiration in my life has been my sister & my parents. My strength is my all lovely friends.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I participated in a one of the biggest Pageant competitions “Mrs. South Asia World 2022” where I earned Winner crown in Mrs. South Asia world Pageant category, I was crowned by popular Bollywood Actress Preity Zinta and this high-profile event was organized by biggest organizers-MyDreamTV Entertainment. CEO-Rashmi & Jhanak Bedi. I feel honored to win beauty pageant competition & 3 titles as
-Mrs. South Asia world Photogenic,
-Mrs. South Asia world Congeniality,
-Runner-up winner of Talent round: Dance performance
Me Winning pageant crown was dream come true.
My mother & father has been the greatest inspiration of my life, they’ve taught me to be compassionate, to set higher goals ,to work hard to become an achiever to impact society positively & to help others. My biggest strength, my pillar is my sister Aparna who has always inspired me to be independent, strong, successful woman by being one.
My biggest achievement is my lovely son Samarth who has given me so much joy and fulfillment in life. Being mother is the greatest feeling and blessing.
My passion is to empower women & to dream Impossible. I want break the stereotype/barriers to do something positive, beneficial work for entire creation, to uplift society towards positivity & empower human soul. I have Participated in pageant competition for a reason,to prove a point.
I have won pageant during postpartum phase. After giving birth I had to go through one life-threatening condition ‘Postpartum preeclampsia’ which can lead to strokes, seizures n death but fortunately it was treated and I was out of danger. That time I learnt that life is unpredictable and I will live my life to the fullest to fulfill my passion.
I put on so much weight after pregnancy and I was not feeling fit and active like before. Postpartum phase was difficult emotionally and physically. Just like any other new mom I felt changes in life. I wanted feel fit and healthy again.
So one day I decided & challenged myself to get into fitness mindset & tried to become best version of me. I have lost around 55 pounds so far and still working on my fitness everyday. So all my achievements in life are the outcome of my strong mind set, my hard work and consistent efforts to achieve the impossible. Today I can assure one thing that If I can do it then you all can do it. We just need to take that first step and set goals for ourselves.
As women we limit ourselves but if we check history earlier there are many brave women who had dreams, took a first step and fought for getting into education, voting rights, freedom etc as a result, today we all women are equal & educated. Before it was just a dream.
I would like to tell all ladies out there that’s please don’t stop fighting for your dreams. Don’t let anyone define your worth. Stand up for yourself and never settle for anything less than you deserve.
I would like to dedicate my crown to those who don’t give up on their dreams.
We all women & men together make this world more beautiful & divine place. We can coexist beautifully if we remember our true sense, true nature which is love & compassion.
Sky is our limit. Finding Balance, time management in life is a key.
I represent all new moms and women with dreams and ambition.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Few books and people have changed my life. Jim Rohn’s, Brian Tracey books taught me importance of setting goals, time management skills.
I have learnt so much from Spiritual leaders.
Louise hay philosophy taught me deep meaning of life and our true purpose.
I believe God has created us to make this planet a better place and better human beings are those who are sensitive, generous and kind. It’s not nice to make anyone suffer for own selfish reasons & as a basis courtesy if someone cannot help to an individual then at least don’t hurt them. Because world will be better place if there is compassion and love for each other. I always stand for justice & I am against cruelty.
My purpose of life is to help underprivileged & spread mental health awareness via my Life Coach services.
I want to be remembered as someone who has big Goals and achieves them, no matter what obstacles come along my way,It’s important to believe in yourself and fight for your dreams. Don’t let anyone define your life.
I believe there is only one you (your values, belief ,flaws) once you understand who you really are, make. better choices for urself. Let your dreams fly.
We all will fail in life but what we do after failure will define our future. Success taste much better after failure. Give your 100 % efforts ,hard work when opportunities knock your door and make most of it.
Please don’t forget to live this funny thing called ‘Life’.
It meant to be full of ups and down, fun, love, care, celebration & laughter.
Always remember we are here for short time and make this place more beautiful.
I want to have a legacy for next generation and empower people.
