We were lucky to catch up with Shweta Bajaj recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Shweta thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

I had been a stay home mom for almost 17 years, but as things happen and sometimes good things also happen! God has a plan for everyone and so it had one for me too! In Covid times I was a bit free at home so just from watching a small video on chocolates I thought of just giving it a try amongst my friends and family. Who knew that it would grow so much that today it’s a business and my passion! Who knew from being a fashion designer and a mom I’ll eventually find my passion in being a chocolatier. I just love what I do. 

My mission behind this is for each every stay home mom to believe in themselves and find a passion in life and make it happen. I had been a stay home mom rather I would call a home maker for almost 17 years till the time Shweta’s Gourmet Chocolates was established!

Shweta’s Gourmet Chocolates is so important for me as that’s what has given a meaning in my life, it has given me my identity apart from being a wife and mom of two beautiful children. I would want every mom to have an identity for herself.

Shweta, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Shweta’s Gourmet Chocolates is a cottage business so basically, it’s a home-based business. I work with only and only high-quality Belgian chocolates, you can call me obsessed with Belgian chocolate! I make artisan chocolate bars, barks and come up with special chocolate products around holiday season. I am obsessed with nuts and want to provide really high quality and healthy chocolates to our customers. I also use lots of Indian spices and do indian fusion chocolates which is really loved by the Indian and non-Indian community. One of the customers said after eating our Indian flavor Rasmalai chocolate it took her to a trip to Hawaii or an island that it was so good. Our Paan flavor is another Indian spice chocolate that helps with digestion as it has ingredients that help with digestion. I love to stay connected with my Indian roots and want to incorporate Indian spices that have a lot of health benefits into my chocolates and that’s why we call it gourmet chocolates. I specialize in boozy chocolates that have liquor infused fruits along with nuts and are loved by our customers equally. I also do spiced and seasoned cashews and almonds, our Indian Masala Cashews are very popular. We use a lot of Organic and Non-GMO ingredients in our chocolates. As I tell all my customers, I do not compromise on quality. Shweta’s Gourmet Chocolates is here to provide a good quality chocolate experience with spices and nuts. 

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

As we all know social media is very important part of any business. I started Shweta’s Gourmet Chocolates first on Facebook and then instagram. I started posting my new flavors and specials I am coming up with. I started posting on local Atlanta groups to spread information about my business and customers can see what I am offering. I have been blessed with such a supportive community that after trying my chocolates they love to post reviews and feedback and that helps build more customers.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

I think being a vendor at the festivals has really made me grow my business and get more and more clients. Being at festivals makes me show customers what I offer. I love to meet  people at events and talk to them about my chocolates and nuts.
