I’m the owner and founder of It’s My Blueprint!—a Houston-based business specializing in creating unforgettable moments through custom decor. My journey into this industry started as a hobby and passion over 20 years ago, where I found joy in designing unique decorations for friends and family. After spending 15 years in Education Management, I decided to follow my heart and turn my creative side hustle into a full-time career. It was a leap of faith inspired by my love of helping others celebrate life’s special moments.

At It’s My Blueprint!, we provide a wide range of services to make your events stand out. These include intricate balloon installations for birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events, and school functions. We also create elegant table decor to enhance your party’s atmosphere—perfect for dinners, banquets, or intimate gatherings. Additionally, we offer giant stuffed balloons and are developing DIY balloon kits for clients who want to add their own creative flair. From small, personal celebrations to large-scale events, our goal is to transform every occasion into something extraordinary.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

After graduating from the University of Houston, I began a 15-year career in Education Management. As a College Counselor and later a Director in private schools, I dedicated myself to helping students achieve their dreams. From raising SAT scores to guiding students to Ivy League acceptances, I found purpose in empowering young minds. It was rewarding work, but deep down, something was missing—a creative spark that I hadn’t yet fully explored.

For over 20 years, I had a passion project: event planning and custom decor. It started as a hobby, creating unique decorations for friends and family events, and soon became a side hustle. I loved how my work could transform a simple gathering into a magical experience. But with the demands of my full-time career, I didn’t see it as more than a creative outlet—until I did.

The turning point came during the pandemic. I realized how much joy I felt designing custom decor for small, intimate celebrations when the world felt heavy. I started wondering: What if I made this my full-time focus? Could I turn this into a business that spreads joy while giving me the freedom to express my creativity?

Making the pivot wasn’t easy. Leaving a stable career in education meant stepping into the unknown, and I had to overcome doubts and financial uncertainties. But I was determined. I leaned on my years of event planning experience, my attention to detail, and the drive to make every celebration memorable. That’s how It’s My Blueprint! was born—a business centered on crafting beautiful balloon decor and unforgettable experiences.

Since then, I’ve embraced the entrepreneurial journey wholeheartedly. It’s been a learning curve, but seeing my clients’ smiles and hearing their glowing feedback reminds me I made the right choice. This pivot wasn’t just about changing careers—it was about rediscovering and committing to my true passion. It taught me that sometimes, the biggest risks lead to the most fulfilling rewards.
