We were lucky to catch up with Shod Santiago recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Shod , thanks for joining us today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?

Hi, I initially started on vine in 2013! I literally didn’t know what could come out of it being a social media influencer and I actually wasn’t trying to be. I honestly just went with the flow and let go and let go. At the time I was working in a pharmacy. I started “blowing” up on social media and I prayed and asked God to lead me. 2 weeks later I was laid off and began getting numerous brand deals and I took that and ran with it.,

Shod , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I already kind of explained a lot of things in the first part of this as far as these questions. However. I’m very passionate about writing and I’m working on my second book and I honestly can’t wait for you all to see what I have In the works. Just be prepared to be shocked lol hiiiii

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

You know what’s funny? There are so many lessons I still have to unlearn! I’ll circle back to this lol

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

This is a good question! Now a days algorithm plays such a huge part in things but honestly I’m still learning but stay as consistent as possible and if you see “it” in your head and you REALLY believe that you’re going to prosper! Keep going and it’ll happen when you least expect it!!
