We recently connected with Shiquasha Lynéce and have shared our conversation below.
Shiquasha, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I knew, when I became obsessed with it. EvenThough, I took breaks and fell back at times to recover. I wrote my first song at age 8. There was always a song popping up in my head.
Shiquasha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well, I started having a thing for music as a little young girl. While having older sibling(s) that had a thing for doing music and entertainment, first. Their not as passionate about it, anymore. Plus, my father whom passed away when I was 10 yrs of age, on Christmas Eve, he was really good at rapping and he sung as well. So..that obviously passed on down to his children. Next thing you know, songs would start to pop up in my head off the top of the dome and then I started writing them.
I’ve done some freestyle challenges and caught the attention of icons that have definitely inspired me. However, I didn’t start taking myself serious as a music artist until after I released my first EP
“ Times Exhaling “ produced by OsymBeats.
I’ve also done some modeling and print. Plus, I even studied Fashion in my early 20’s. Because I am a fashion lover, as well! And I get it from my momma, Lol. I’m a very artistic kind of person.
Eventhough, I had fell back from music for some years to recover. However. Ppl would literally reach out to me and let me know that their a fan and that means a lot to me.! So.. that keeps me motivated and I been working on big things for the future.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Knowing that my music has a good impact on others… when sharing my stories and moods, in my music. That’s the most reward to me.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I’m not the kind of artist person, that settles for whatever is offered to me, in this industry.
