Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shinika Crawley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Shinika thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
“It was all a dream” like Biggie said I always saw myself as this boss woman helping people do something great. It wasn’t until college I realized that my brilliance was helping people Make money in their businesses was my thing. Like I am the Beyonce of Business Growth Strategy! Yes, I said it.
I have always been fascinated with business and how businesses grew, and always wanted to help others do it too, I discovered my gift in marketing and using strategies to help others be seen and heard. I wanted to take that gift to the next level. I asked myself what would it look like if I got paid to help people be seen and grow their businesses.
That’s the 1st real step in visualizing, “You must be it before you are it”- Dr. Darnyelle Jervey Harmon. I had to sit in the seat of being an entrepreneur, of getting paid to do what excites me. It’s in that energy I operated out of to start my business & grow my business.
I had to solve a real problem because where in business to solve problems for profit, was the second step
I got tired of seeing brilliant talented impact-driven women not being seen and heard in the marketplace. Mainly because nobody knows they exist and on the back end they needed to tighten their messaging and marketing, more importantly, they needed to believe that they are the best to ever do it (mindset)
I took the next week to get clear on the type of people I wanted to help and why, I got clear on the real problem I’m helping them solve, and lastly what is the 1 solution I can provide them with to help them solve their problem.
Now it was time for the plan, the 3rd step, I had to write it out so I knew it was real, real enough to execute. My plan consisted of where can I find my audience, How would I attract them, and how would I get them to know, like, and trust me. After getting that together my plan had how would I be seen and heard (marketing & messaging) Now a place to pay me and the rest is on repeat.
And to make sure I wasn’t hustling & grinding like the world said I should, I paid for a consultant to look at my plan to see the gaps I couldn’t see for myself. Why do we google everything when there is someone who has been there and done that so I can go further faster? So I invested in the level of transformation I desired. Later down the line I invested in a business coach.
Out of all of these steps I took to take my idea out of my head and execute it, it was the mindset that took a lot of work. There was a lot of fear of failure questioning whether could I actually really do it. would people actually pay me for my brilliance? It took a lot of time to not allow fear to drive in the front seat as I pushed through and started my business anyway. Even today I constantly work on my mindset.
These were the things I did to move beyond the idea phase and actually launch.

Shinika, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Yes, I’m helping them with strategy because business is not a one-size-fits-all, but helping them understand how they need to position themselves in the marketplace and that they can truly have it all. By working on the six inches between their ears. A lot of people think the mindset isn’t the issue, they think they need more strategy to make more money. No one wants to do the work to unblock what they most desire to happen. And that’s what I work on with entrepreneurs.
I truly care about the full CEO so she can be a better mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
Any fun sales or marketing stories?
So, I had been running my business for a couple of months, and I wanted to take my marketing efforts to the next level.
One day, I stumbled upon a prestigious business conference that brought together industry leaders and influencers from around the world. It was a highly competitive event, with renowned speakers and established businesses vying for attention. I knew that getting a speaking slot at the conference would be a game-changer for my business, but the odds were stacked against me.
I was relatively unknown in the industry, In that newbie stage and the conference organizers were notorious for selecting speakers with large followings and extensive experience. And my budget was limited, and the cost of attending the conference was high, with no guarantee of return on investment.
Despite the challenges, I was determined. I believed that my unique perspective and expertise as a female entrepreneur could bring value to the conference attendees. I decided to take the risk and submit a proposal to be a speaker at the event.
The waiting period was nerve-wracking for me. I anxiously checked my inbox every day, hoping for a positive response. Doubt and fear crept in, as I wondered if I would be overlooked in favor of more established speakers. But I refused to give up.
Then, one day, I received an email from the conference organizers. my heart skipped a beat as I opened it, and it was an acceptance letter! I had been selected as one of the speakers at the conference. I was elated and felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as I prepared for the big day.
The day of the conference arrived, and I took the stage with confidence. I delivered a powerful and engaging presentation, sharing her unique insights on leadership, resilience, and navigating challenges as a female entrepreneur. The audience was captivated, and my passion and expertise shone through my words.
After my presentation, I was flooded with positive feedback from attendees. Many approached me, expressing how my talk had resonated with them and inspired them to take action in their businesses. My message of empowerment and inclusivity struck a chord with the audience, and I received numerous inquiries about my services.
My risk paid off! From that day on, I continued to make a mark as a trailblazing female money maker. My story of taking a risk and achieving success became an inspiration to many aspiring female entrepreneurs, showing them that with determination, courage, and willingness to take risks, they can overcome any challenge and thrive in the world of business.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The biggest lesson I had to unlearn was that I wasn’t worthy of a life & business that I desired on my terms
We don’t realize many of our choices stem from our deserve or worthy level or lack thereof.
so many lessons have been learned due to unlearning, but I have to say the most important lesson has been learning to see myself the way God has always seen me. I’ve doubted myself and slept on my brilliance plenty of times because of fear and uncertainty, but if I had stepped into my power, letting the God in me shine, I would not have been in many situations. I would not have let opportunities pass me by, and I would not get all that is mine in this world.
Reaffirming who I am now and who I’m becoming, I have no reason to doubt. Now, I’m not saying the fears stop when you get to your next level (lol). No, they sometimes get louder, but it’s the fact that now I see myself as Great, as life-changing, as a queen. How dare I settle or not walk into my purpose to transform lives?
I have learned that my gift and purpose are not about me, and if you understand that your walk is different, your talk is different, and you are more intentional about your moves. And conscious about who has access to you. That was my
biggest lesson.
