We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Shianne Wisdom. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Shianne below.
Shianne, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later?
i believe when i started my business it was “right on time.” at the time I was a supervisor at a Japanese clothing store called Uniqlo, at first I loved the job but over time I felt like I had more to offer and it wasn’t being seen in the areas it should’ve been. towards the end of my being at this job the graphics & web design side of my business started to pick up, so i said why not & i quit. another driving force that caused me to quit was that EVERYDAY i was there i suffered from headaches, ever since i quit my headaches are at a minimum! saying all that to say one thing i do regret is not having a system or even goals for my business, i was just going where the money was and now I’m intentional about who i work with as well as my onboarding process.
Shianne, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
i am a multi-hyphenate, who has multiple creative businesses; my motto is “I Create Because My Father Created,” because I acknowledge that God, The Creator, establishes His purpose in us through our creativity!
my mission is to connect with a global audience through all facets of creativity & help my clients get there through creative consulting. usually, a roadblock that stops many creatives/business owners is not knowing what to do or how to showcase what makes us different in our fields, so in my consulting sessions, we dive into “the difference” for 4 months in 1-on-1 sessions with your brand/brands of choice.
something that makes me proud about my businesses is that they all are committed to servicing the next generation of entrepreneurs, creatives, and go-getters as a whole, and when I say generation I’m not speaking of age but an era of people.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
my goal is to always impact, empower, and/or activate creatives! any platform that I am privileged to be on I always want to make sure the creative is not left out but heard, understood, and encouraged. the reason why the creative is so important is because we are innovators, we can create something from nothing, the same way God started this world and we have His DNA. So the creatives cannot die off, we are needed on Earth, forever!
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
i believe a non-creative wouldn’t understand me “jumping” with no actual plan or backup plan. there are times I just jump and don’t know where I’m going. i trust the creativity that God has given me so much (sometimes🤣) that I just go with the flow and when I look up what was created/done is a masterpiece. I’m saying this to say trust the giftings that God has given you, trust your journey and direction. sometimes if you question too long you’ll miss out on something that was gonna be so dope!
